General Information• The ancient Greeks were polytheistic,

meaning they worshiped multiple gods.

• They also told many stories (myths) about the gods, which were meant to guide human behavior and teach about the relationship between gods and humans.

Mount Olympus – The most important place of the ancient gods.

Mythical Mount Olympus was located somewhere above the earth, and the gods traveled freely between realms.

Some visited the underworld.

live at Mount Olympus

2. Gods and godesses who lived elsewhere.

3. Demi-gods and Heroes – Demi-god is a child of a mortal and immortal. Heroes are the very few mortals whose heroic deeds raised them to the rank of the gods.

4. Personifications of virtues/vices – patience, envy and fear
