Geelong ‘Smart City’ Hub
?
In anticipation of the rollout of high speed broadband in Geelong and the Bellarine region, the City of Greater Geelong and a range of partner organisations are looking to establish a facility 'or digital 'Hub to help promote the benefits
of the digital world to the Geelong community.
The hub is a supportive co-working space where participants can develop, evaluate and grow their ideas. Potential uses for the hub could be:
• Entry level business development support and training
• Mentoring and networking opportunities
• Business conceptualization • Raise awareness of the digital economy and the tools required to successfully navigate it• Skill and competence development in the digital space• Access to professional services, courses and programs from leading IT sector participants• Application advice and support for grants, pitching and funding opportunities
[as laid out by City of Greater Geelong] Geelong Digital Central Concept

I think what was very significant for me was
being able to confidently begin to use an iPad
I think the benefit of coming to the Digital
Hub is the smaller groups, therefore it's a
bit more hands on
My wife and I have benefitted
enormously from this opportunity
to learn more about computers, and have the NBN explained to us.
Andrew has been a fabulous teacher. I’m a
slow learner, and he has helped me so much with
my computer skills.
I can do a little more than just turn it (computer) on.
