Primary goals of TVET in Nigeria:• Provide trained manpower in the applied sciences,
technology and business particularly at craft, advanced craft and technical levels
• Provide the technical knowledge and vocational skills necessary for agricultural, commercial and economic development;
• Give training and impart necessary skills to individual who shall be self-reliant economically.
Current Status of TVET In Nigeria • i. Low quality training• ii. Inadequate instructor training• iii. Mismatch between training and labour
market skill demand• iv. Poor perception of TVET• v. Discrimination against graduates of
technical schools• vi. Low enrollment at all levels of technical
education• vii. Weak monitoring and evaluation• viii. Inadequate financing

• Enhance the status and attractiveness of the TVET
• Involve successful entrepreneurs in the program
• Establish strong relationships between the training institutions and industry
• Introduce sustainable financing scheme for TVET
• Register the TVET programs in the informal sector
