Page 3: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Draw LIGHT guidelines from each of the corners to the VP.

Page 4: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Measure 2 inches up from the VP on the 2 upper guidelines, and mark each spot with a dot.

Page 5: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Connect the two dots with a horizontal line. Draw a vertical line down from each dot, to the lower guidelines. Draw a horizontal line to connect the 2 lower guideleines.

Draw the back wall of the room

Page 6: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Erase everything inside of this box, except for the VP.

Page 7: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

On the right wall, draw a long vertical line, close to the right side of the paper. Draw a guideline from the top of this line that lines up to the VP. Draw a vertical line for the back edge of the opening.

Draw a LARGE opening on the right wall

Page 8: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Draw a horizontal line going INTO the opening, from the lower left corner of the opening.

Page 9: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Erase the bottom of the opening.

Page 10: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Draw a LARGE opening on the left wall. The line that is the top of the opening lines up to the VP.

Page 11: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Draw TWO vertical lines in the middle of the opening (you will be making TWO doorways!)

Page 12: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Erase the part of the top line between the two doorways. Draw a horizontal line intro each of the openings, from the lower corner of each opening.

DRAW A RUG ON THE FLOOR

Draw a long horizontal line near the bottom on the paper. Center it under the VP. Draw guidelines from each end of the line, towards the VP . Draw the back edge of the rug with a horizontal line. The back line must be below the back wall.

Page 15: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Draw a border INSIDE of the rug (follow the same directions for drawing the rug- just do it inside of the rug! Lightly shade in the border.

Page 16: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

Draw floor boards

Along the bottom of the paper, mark off every half inch, with a dot.

Page 17: Drawing Alcoves using One P oint Perspective

From each dot, draw a diagonal line that lines up with the VP. Note that you do NOT draw the guidelines onto the back wall, only on the “floor” part of the drawing.

Draw floorboards in alcoves/openings/doorways

Measure up the left side of the paper, marking dots every half inch, for 3 inches. Do the same thing on the right side, for 5 inches. Draw diagonal lines from each of those dots to line up with the VP- but only draw the lines in the openings.
