Doubles Skipping The following task cards are an extension of
the singles skipping tasks and are more complicated in nature.
These activities would make excellent independent studies or skills
for extra marks throughout the term or school year.
Slide 2
- Partners stand facing each other about 1 apart with one
partner holding both rope handles. - The partner with the rope
calls Ready, Set, Go and swings the rope up from behind on Go. Both
begin jumping in unison. - Partners continue to jump together with
double bounce. Two in One Rope Face To Face Beginner Challenge -Use
a longer rope to better accommodate a second jumper. -Try a single
bounce rather than a double.

- Partners jump together as in Two in One Rope Face-to- Face
(Basic Jump). - The partner without the rope makes a quarter turn
to the right with each jump, turning in a circle. - Continue
turning to the right to complete a circle. Two in One Rope Free
Turns Beginner Challenge -Turn one quarter and stay until
comfortable to rotate another quarter. -Try other footwork skills
while turning (side straddle, forward straddle etc.)

- Partners stand shoulder-to-shoulder. - One partner calls
Ready, Set, Go, and both swing the rope up from behind on Go. - As
the rope comes down in front, partner A brings their right arm down
across their body to the left side, and only partner B jumps over
the rope. - On the next rope turn, partner A returns their right
arm to the right side, and partner B crosses their left arm over to
their right side. Only partner A jumps over the rope. - Continue
the pattern of alternate jumping between partners. Two in One Rope
Side by Side [Alternating Sides] (Part 1) Beginner Challenge
-Practice without the rope. Only advance to alternating partners
when comfortable. - Start with the rope in front of you. Try
skipping backwards.

- The partner outside the rope does not turn toward the other
partner. - The partner crossing his or her arm should bring his or
her hand down to waist level. - Change spots.

- Partners stand shoulder-to-shoulder. - One partner calls
Ready, Set, Go, and both swing the rope up from behind on Go. - As
the rope comes down to the feet, both partners turn toward each
other and continue toward the back, swinging the rope between them.
- As the rope comes up from the ground, both partners lift their
arms up high and keep turning the rope toward the front. - As the
rope comes down in front, both partners bring their hands down by
their sides so the rope hits their toes in front. Neither partner
jumps. - Repeat Steps 15. Add a jump at the end. - Repeat Steps 15.
Add a jump at the beginning. Two in One Rope Side-by-Side [Full
Turn] (Part 1) Beginner Challenge -Practice timing and sequencing
without the rope before proceeding. -Start with the rope in front
of you. Try skipping backwards.

other toward the front, lifting the ropes up high and bringing them
down to their toes in front. - Repeat Steps 15. Add a jump at the
end. - Repeat Steps 15. Add a jump at the beginning. Two in Two
Ropes Side-by-Side (360) Beginner Challenge -Practice jumping in
sync without the ropes. -Change sides and try reversing the process
(skipping backwards).
