TaskStudents will use a device (iPad, Tablet, iPod, PC etc…) to take a picture ofa student and recording an interview about a particular topic.
This task example will focus on using an iPad.
Topics could include:
• Favourite Sport,• Something they enjoy doing on the weekend,• A famous person they’d like to meet,• What they’d like to be when they grow up, or• If they were sent to space, what would they take with them?
Resources• iPad/s• Book Creator Free
Steps
1. Students take a picture of their peer who they have chosen to interview. This can be done using the iPads ‘Camera’ app.
2. Open Book Creator.
Take picture Open Book Creator
Steps3. Student should create a page for each question (this is
dependent on age group and ability level). 4. Format is entirely up to teacher/student; however, for this
example I have placed the student photo on the first (cover) page along with the student’s name.
Steps5. You can edit the text colour, size and attributes by selecting
the text you wish to edit and then the ‘info’ button.6. You can then add the student’s image by selecting the
‘Plus/Add’ button and choosing ‘Photos’.
Steps7. Recoding student’s responses is as simple as selecting the
‘Add’ button and then ‘Add Sound’. You’ll be given the option to add from iTunes or Record. Select ‘Record’.
8. Record each of the student’s responses for each question.
ConclusionThis is a simple example of how Book Creator can be used to create an interactive presentation. Dependent on ability levels, teachers can have students create more colourful and engaging slides with transitions.
