Goal
Our goal is to better inform prospective and current college students about their decisions of picking a public or private college, which is why our slogans are “Did you make the Right Choice?” and “Are You Getting Your Money’s Worth?”. We believe this is an important issue because most people choose a public college solely based on tuition costs, which we believe is not a good enough reason to attend one. Private colleges can be a good, low-costly option as well if you look into their diverse options of financial aid packages, grant s and merit scholarships which can make the tuition lower than it really is. Despite whatever type of college one commits to, the overall goal is to inform people to do extensive research on their choices for education beyond high school .
Statistics
Most low-income students who have top test scores and grades do not even apply to the nation’s best colleges
Only 34 percent of high-achieving high school seniors in the bottom fourth of income distribution attended any one of the country’s 238 most selective colleges
On the other hand, Among top students in the highest income quartile, that figure was 78 percent.
