• We’ve grown up with BBSs…. lurked Slashdot.org…. followed Digg ….. and have used Del.cio.us religiously.
• Over the past year we’ve explored Popurls, Alltop, Addict-o-matic, and many many others.
• At nights, we sit down and read RSS readers
to slug it through thousands of feeds, postings, google-alerts, and other tech news sources.
There are significant problems with this daily approach to consuming the tech news though…..
…..and those tedious problems are shared by many.
• takes news leads via e-mail & other sources• harvests items for evaluation tagged or
described with “flowww” from del.cioi.us, flickr, etc.
• aggregates the aggregators• mines unstructured text to gauge opinion on a
topic and relevance.• trends and compares• weights by the influence of behavior• filters it down to the most interesting stuff • displays it all in a site *preview* GUI• saves you time
It is powered by…SPSS Clementine, and several other fancy stats apps
…..plus a dash of randomness and regression.
In the near future….we’ll be releasing an RSS to Flowww widget for you to embed in your blog, profile, site, etc.
