Belgorod State Technological University named after V. G. Shukhov
Aim of the project The development and industrial introduction of technologies for synthesis of composite materials with photocatalytic coatings by
vacuum and plasma spraying
- High-speed coating- Ability of synthesis of nanocomposite structures at relatively low temperatures (200-300 ° C)-Relative simplicity of the scaling from laboratory conditions to industrial applications
- Methods for determination of the photocatalytic activity have been elaborated
- The conditions for the formation of coatings with optimal set of photocatalytic properties have been determined
- Laboratory samples with the highest photocatalytic active coatings were synthesized
The advantages of vacuum and plasma technology:
Scientific basis:
03
Antibacterial Superhydrophilic Decomposition of organic matter
Premises requiring high sterility: hospitals, maternity hospitals, operating rooms
Cooking areas and handling of food: canteens in kindergartens, catering outlets
Swimming pools, aqua parks, fitness centers
bathroom equipment
Self-cleaning surfaces: buildings facades , exhibition halls and other representative areas
fog-free glass in motor and aircraft industry (mirrors, lights, windows, etc.)
The use of photocatalytic technologies to prevent or eliminate the consequences of local environmental accidents in household and industry (floating photocatalytic spheres for water purification from oil film), in wastewater treatment systems
The application of composite materials

There may be a number of technological problems at the stage of testing, the solution of which will require additional research, which in turn will increase the project deadlines
Risk Factors
It’s not easy to find companies that:-are ready to use this technology and become «innovators» -have the necessary resources to purchase expensive vacuum and plasma systems-are able to bring to market a fundamentally new product
