Introduction1. Workwithstudentstodefinetheword“persevere”andwritetheagreedupondefinitiononthe board/achart.Note:seeprovideddefinition.

2. Tellstudentsthatinthissessiontheywillusetheirownexamplesoftimeswhentheyhavepersevered tocreateaboardgame.

Direct Instruction (I do)1. Distributeyournotestoeachstudent.Considerreadingeachoneoutloudasyoudeliverthenote.

2. Taketimetospeaktowhatyouhavenoticedthusfarintheschoolyearandhowperseverancehas paidoffinsomewayforeachstudent.

3. Endwitharoundofapplauseforeachother.

Project and PurposeStudentscollaboratewithotherstodesignanoriginalgameonthethemeofperseveranceandthenplayeachother’snewgames.
