DB2 REASON CODE 00C90216 ERQUAL 53CD AFTER ROWFORMAT RRF
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
CA Rapid Reorg for DB2 for z/OS (PRR) can cause DB2 REASON CODE
00C90216 ERQUAL 53CD errors when processing with the
ROWFORMAT RRF option.
The circumstances are as follows:
1) THE TABLESPACE TABLE'S COLUMN COUNT FOUND IN THE HEADER PAGE
of the tablespace is less than the catalog column count.
This could be the result of an ALTER ADD COLUMN prior to
the alter add being part of versioning.
2) No system pages exist and the tablespace is not versioned.
3) The tablespace is in BRF format and VARCHAR columns exist.
4) ROWFORMAT RRF is specified to convert to RRF format.
SYMPTOMS:
The reorg runs to completion.
A succeeding DB2 query can result in the following error:
DB2 REASON CODE 00C90216 ERQUAL 53CD
A subsequent run of CA Fast Unload for DB2 for z/OS (PFU) may return
the following error:
PFU0222I - CORRUPT ROW ENCOUNTERED AT
- PAGE: X'00000002' ROW: X'01' OBID: X'00AD'
IMPACT:
The reorg corrupts the tablespace.
CIRCUMVENTION:
Run a reorg without ROWFORMAT RRF followed by another
reorg using ROWFORMAT RRF.

PRFQMFBT REALIGNS QMF QUERIES
PRFQMFBT REALIGNS QMF QUERIES
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
CA Report Facility (BIPRF) incorrectly realigns the query during the import
from QMF via CA Report Facility - QMF Import Services utility.
SYMPTOMS:
This problem is seen when the imported query has a delimited identifier with
an apostrophe.
One of the below mentioned error messages is issued when attempting
to run the imported query:
a. DSNT408I SQLCODE = -104, ERROR: ILLEGAL SYMBOL
b. PRF0009E Table not in the DB2 catalog
c. PRF0963E Name identifier is invalid. It must start with a valid letter
Due to the incorrect conversion from QMF to PRF record length format,
various syntax alignment issues may occur making the imported query difficult
to read.
IMPACT:
The imported query is realigned and cannot be run successfully.

INCORRECT ALTER TABLE ADD COLUMN ENTRY IN DDL REPORT OR SQL
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
CA Log Analyzer for DB2 for z/OS (PLA) may report on false ALTER TABLE ADD
COLUMN statements even if no such activity occurred. The problem is caused by
coincidence of several factors, so it occurs in seemingly random cases.
The root cause is a translation error from one CCSID to another, but has to
take place for catalog tables.
SYMPTOMS:
DDL report or generated DDL contain false entries related to ALTER TABLE ADD
COLUMN statement.
IMPACT:
Generated report or SQL file is inaccurate.
CIRCUMVENTION:
None. If catalog is encoded in EBCDIC, the problem will not occur.

ALTER VIEW REGENERATE NOT GENERATED FOR VIEW ON VIEWS
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When using CA RC/Migrator for DB2 for z/OS (RCM) to alter the data type,
length, precision, or scale of a column of a table, the analysis generates
Alter View REGENERATE DDL for all the views created on the table.
However, the analysis does not generate alter view REGENERATE DDL for the
dependent views of views which were created from the base table.
For EX: View VW1 is created on table T1. View VW2 is created on view VW1.
THE ANALYSIS GENERATES 'ALTER VIEW .... REGENERATE' FOR VW1 ONLY.
THE 'ALTER VIEW .. REGENERATE' IS MISSING FOR VW2.
SYMPTOMS:
'ALTER VIEW <VIEWNAME> REGENERATE' IS MISSING FOR THE DEPENDANT VIEWS
created from the view of the base table.
IMPACT:
Since the view on views are not regenerated, DB2 will always regenerate
the view whenever the view is used which may cause performance degradation.

1. Stop product collections.
2. Stop the Xmanager task.
3. Update the runtime library.
4. Restart the Xmanager task.

Xmanager active as it may result in a discrepancy between dynamically
loaded components and statically loaded components. This may result in
unpredictable behavior with CA-DB2 tools and/or compromise the
operating system/DB2 including possible failure.

index created on a table, which has ROWID as one of the column type,
generate a DDL with UNIQUE keyword missing.
SYMPTOMS:
Unique Keyword is not generated in the DDL.
IMPACT:
Index uniqueness is lost.
CIRCUMVENTION:
None.

PIECESIZE CHANGED FROM 4G TO 2G IN A DDL-SSID COMPARE
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
CA RC/Compare for DB2 for z/OS (RCC) will generate alter index DDL
to alter the PIECESIZE of the index if the following conditions are true:
1) The compare strategy uses import DDL.
2) The attribute PIECESIZE is not included in the create index DDL.
3) The import DDL does not include the parent objects of the index.
SYMPTOMS:
The analysis will generate Alter Index DDL to alter the PIECESIZE.
IMPACT:
The execution of the DDL will incorrectly change the piecesize
of the index.
CIRCUMVENTION:
Edit the create index DDL and add attribute PIECESIZE and recreate the
compare strategy.

EXPORT REMOTE LOCATION HIGH2KEY/LOW2KEY IS PADDING WITH ZERO
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
In CA Plan Analyzer Statistics Manager for DB2 for z/OS (PSM), an Export
was padding the statistics in HIGH2KEY and LOW2KEY with extra zeroes for
catalog tables SYSCOLUMN and SYSCOLSTATS when remote location for import
has been specified. This resulted in invalid statistics being inserted
into the export subsystem. An IBM DB2 11 APAR PI34029, now performs sanity
checks during RUNSTATS and REORG to ensure length of HIGH2KEY and LOW2KEY
MATCH THE COLUMN LENGTH + 1, IF IT DOESN'T MATCH AN ABEND S04E REASON
00E40231 can take place.
SYMPTOMS:
Abend S04E Reason 00E40231 occurs running runstats and reorgs, because
column HIGH2KEY in SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMN and SYSIBM.SYSCOLSTATS are sanity
checked by DB2 utilities.
IMPACT:
PSM Export is inserting invalid statistics for HIGH2KEY and LOW2KEY
causing problems when DB2 Utilities are executed.
CIRCUMVENTION:
None.
