Stage 2In the 2nd stage the eggs hatch into a caterpillar.

Caterpillars eat twice their weight in leaves every day!

Then they out grow their skin, which causes their skin to shed. Click to go back

Stage 3This stage is called pupa, its when they rest inside silken cocoons.

In the cocoons they will rest for 2 weeks.

Inside the cocoon they will change into a butterfly.

Stage 4The Butterfly emerges from the cocoon.

Blood flows through the veins helping them to open up and spread out.

Then the butterfly is ready to fly. Click to go back
