Are Law s o f Na tu r e a re Equa l f o r A l l o f us?
By Kapil Kakar
Ramlal and Shyamlal were the best of friends. Both were bachelorsand worked in the same organization as colleagues. They used tospend most of their time together whether at office or at home.Since their views were identical on life there actions typicallyfollowed their views. They both together, used to spoil the officeenvironment by ridiculing and making fun of others, delaying work, troubling others and taking bribe. At home they were found mostlyin a drunken state. Being firm believers of astrology they both oncewent together to a Swami and requested him to describe theirfuture. Swamiji on their request predicted their date of death, whichwas exactly five months away. For the first time, both the friendsreacted differently after hearing the news. Ramlal said, Since I amabout to die why not enjoy my life to the fullest and he started
drinking, womanizing etc. Shyamlal contrary to his friend said,Since I am about to die after some time I will implore and worshipGod as I will be with him in a few months, so he started praying, helping others, and learning about God. After three months Ramlalpassed away, two months earlier than predicted by Swamiji.Shyamlal continued working, surrendering his actions to God andcounting days for his death. Five months passed and nothinghappened to Shyamlal. Then another month passed and he was inperfect state of health. Once again, he approached Swamiji and toldhim that his prediction of timing of death was totally wrong, as hisfriend had expired two months earlier than the day of predictionand he was still living. To this, Swamiji answered, You both
reacted differently to the news of your death. What I predicted wasnot wrong but you both acted differently. Had you both continuedto live the same way that you were living than you would have diedexactly at the time I told you i.e. after 5 months. But the two ofyou perceived the situation differently. Ramlal accelerated on hiswrong actions and death came to him early and you applied brakeson the earlier actions and you started living a changed lifestyle ofresponsible and good individual and hence your actions got youaway from the jaws of the death. Remember, we are all masters ofour action and we have free will to perform as in Bhagvad Gita InCh=5 Text 15 Lord Says: NOR DOES THE SUPREME LORDASSUMES ANYONE'S SINFUL OR PIOUS ACTIVITIES. EMBODIEDBEINGS, HOWEVER, ARE BEWILDERED BECAUSE OF IGNORANCE
WHICH COVERS THE REAL KNOWLEDGE. Hence we can change ourdestiny by changing our ways. Think about it and start changingyour destiny now.

Are w e Li v ing in Kal i Yuga?
By Kapil Kakar
Are we evolving? If we are then how is it possible
because we are living in Kali yuga the Dark Age. Howcan anyone evolve in Dark Age? How is it that the
standard of living is getting better and better of the
people worldwide? How can the science advance soastronomically in last few hundred years? How can the
rich and famous westerners get attracted to Spirituality,
Kumbh Mela, Meditation and Vegetarianism to name
few? Why is it that motivators of today also speak aboutSpirituality? Why do we see more and more people
whether rich or poor approaching and following gurus?
Does all these trend show that we are moving towards
God? If that is so then how is it possible in Kali Yuga.
Needless to say Kali Yuga is supposed to be the worst ofthe four Yugas. The human intellect is only quarterly
developed and he cannot grasp anything beyond the
gross material creation. The best is Satya Yuga in which
man can comprehend, even God the spirit beyond theinvisible world. Satya Yuga is followed by Treta Yuga
and then comes Dwapara Yuga and finally Kali Yuga.
The general impression among Hindus world wide is that
we are in Kali Yuga. But Sri Sri Swami Yukteswarmaharaj ji (1855-1936) the guru of Parmahansa
Yogananda ji (the author of Autobiography of a Yogi and
the founder of Yogoda Satsang Society which mainly
operates from Ranchi and America) had a differentopinion. He Was a self-realized Swami who took
Samadhi in 1936.
The general understanding is that Stya Yuga is for
17,28,000 years, Treta Yuga is for 12,96,000 years,
Dwapara Yuga is for 8,64,000 years and Kali Yuga is for
4,32,000 years. Swami Sri Sri yukteswar maharaj hadsaid there is a story behind the above mentioned figure
and he has also described by mathematical calculation
that where these figures went wrong.
The calculation mistake started during the reign of raja
Parikshat, just after the completion of Dwarpa yuga. Atthat time Maharaja Yudhisthira, noticing the appearance
of dark kali yuga, gave his thrown to his grandson raja

Parikshat. Maharaj Yudhisthira together with his all wisemen of his court went to Himalayas. Thus there was no
one left in the court of Raja parikshat who could
understand the principle of correctly calculating the ages
of several yugas. Hence after the completion of DwaparaYuga no body dared to make Introduction of kali yuga.
Therefore the first year of kali yuga was numbered along
the age of Dwapara Yuga. After many many years the
wise men of that time realized that the period of kaliyuga is 1200 years. But as their intellect was not
suitably developed they came to a conclusion that these
1200 years of kali was not the ordinary years of our
earth but were the years of gods Consisting of 12months and 30 days in each month. And each god day
was equal to one year on earth. Going by this-
1day= 1year
360 days 360 years
Satya Yuga
360 years X 4800 Years 17,28,000 YEARS
360 years X 3600 Years=12,96,000 Years
360 Years X 2400 Years= 8,64,000 years
360 Years X 1200 Years=4,32,000 Years.
He further stated that out of 4800 years of satya yuga
( 400 +4000+ 400 ) the four hundred years before andafter satya yuga are the cusp. Similarly 3600 ( 300
+3000+ 300 ), 2400( 200 +2000+ 200 ) and 1200( 100
+1000+ 100 ) before and after of Treta, Dvapara and
Kali respectively are also cusp also. His calculationsfurther indicate that in 1600 AD the kali yuga (the last
100 years of kali yuga were cusp as explained earlier) sothe characteristics of Dwapara Yuga also started coming
into force. And in 1600 ad William Gilbert discoveredmagnetic forces. In 1609 Kepler discovered the Law of
astronomy and Galileo produced a telescope. About
1670 Newton discovered the Law of Gravitation. And in1899 the cusp of 200 years of Dwapara Yuga was alsocompleted and now we are in the Full Dwapara Yuga andthat is the reason man has taken a big leap in last

hundred years.
If you look at the human history of last two thousandYears man had only indulged in Wars, Captivity,
Disrespect to fellow human beings specially women,
working undemocratically etc. But definitely in last five
hundred years, each day man seems to be evolving. Hehas started following democratic process world wide, the
disrespect of fellow human's beings though has not
vanished but are much less, men and women are looked
up with parity. Emotions of others are respected morethen ever. When he had revealed this calculation in AD
1894 he called it 26 th falgun, 194 Dwarpa.

Decision Making has been with man since the time hebeen conscious of himself and the environment around
him. Our great ancestors in Stone Age took decisionsbut those were pertaining to survival and living.
Thousand of years hence we are still taking decisions
the only difference being now decisions are taken not for
survival but to display one's competencies in life, tosurpass others, always trying to stay ahead in race and
eventually satisfying one's ego.
Some Five Thousand years ago Arjuna a man of
intelligence but without discriminatory ability foundhimself in the fix. He was unable to decide initially
whether he should be fighting the battle againstkauravas or not. And his decision came after measuring
all pros and cons that he should not be fighting against
his cousins.
Fortunately for Arjuna Lord Krishna was there to make
him aware about the factuality's and from there on alsoassisted him in reconsidering his decision and finally
changing it. But in today's world we do not have Krishnain flesh and blood to help us in our decisions.
One can imagine the precarious situation of Arjuna by
observing the questions asked by him to Lord Krishna inBhagvad Gita.
In Text 31 CH-I Arjuna says I do not see how any goodcan come from killing my own kinsmen in this battle, nor
can I, my dear Krishna, desire any subsequent victory,
kingdom, or happiness.
In Text 32-35 Ch-1 Arjuna Says O Govinda, of what
avail to us are a kingdom, happiness or even life itselfwhen all those for whom we may desire them are now
arrayed on this battlefield? O Madhusudhan, when
teachers, fathers, sons, grandfathers, maternal uncles,
fathers-in-law, grandsons, brothers-in-law and otherrelatives are ready to give up their lives and properties
and are standing before me, why should I wish to kill

them, even though they might otherwise kill me? O
maintainer of all living entities, I am not prepared to
fight with them even in exchange for the three worlds, let alone this earth. What pleasure will we derive from
killing the sons of Dhritrashtra?
In Text 36 Ch-1 Arjuna Says Sin will overcome us if weslay such aggressors. Therefore it is not proper for us to
kill the sons of Dhritrashtra and our friends. What
should we gain, O Krishna, husband of the goodness offortune, and how could we be happy by killing our own
kinsmen?
In Text 37-38 Ch-1 Arjuna further says O janardhan,
although these men, their hearts overtaken by greed,
see no fault in killing one's family or quarreling with
friends, why should we, who can see the crime indestroying a family, engage in these acts of sin?
Arjuna was a Sincere, Honest and a Good living being.
One can easily conclude this from what he thought andthe questions asked by him. He had sound reasons
which actually made him reluctant to fight against thekauravas. He was overwhelmed in the battlefield by
seeing his cousins, relatives and friends standing against
him and he could not understand what he would achieve
by killing them.
He was a man who was clearly disinterested in thematerialistic possessions though he had adequate power
to get them. He was from a royal family and still waswilling to give all the comforts of life just for the sake of
his relatives, friends who on the other hand wereprepared to kill him and his brothers for the pride,
vanity, ego and materialistic things.
Lord Krishna very patiently answered all his queries,
cleared all his doubts and never tried to conclude thingsin haste nor compelled Arjuna to fight unwillingly. Hemade Arjuna to realize the vulnerability of the situation
all by himself without actually imposing His (Krishna's)views in him.
Does this mean that we are unfortunate not to have
Krishna with us as we do no not have Him to guide and
make us discriminate between do's and don'ts in this

ever challenging life which appears in differentunexpected forms?
The answer to this question has been given in Bhagvad
Gita where in Text 20 Ch-X Lord says I am the
supersoul which dwells in the hearts of all living entities.
I am the beginning, the middle and the end of allbeings.
We can clearly understand from above statement thatGod is omnipresent. He is right their in you and if youwant to witness him you will have to see Him from the
eyes of faith. To get the solutions to your problems you
will have to approach him. He will not come to youunless and until you invite him to solve your problem
like what Arjuna did. You will have to be Arjuna and to
be Arjuna you will have to dispel your ego and
submissively surrender yourself to God and than act onHis advice like Arjuna did. He is the only one you can
have faith on, if you truly want to enhance faith in
yourself for any purpose in life and that includes
Decision Making.

A t t e m p t t o K n o w Go d
By Kapil Kakar
God has given us everything right from subtle Mind and
Intelligence, which helps a person to think anddiscriminate to the gross body, which helps us
implement what we feel and think. But He has kept one
important fundamental thing hidden from us, that which
forms basis of our lives, which is master of everythingand it is realization about ourselves i.e. Real Us. And
God has done it successfully by giving us all Ego that
makes us imagine distinctively that we are separatefrom one another. It is this realization that keeps us
away from God i.e. Ego. He expects us to work towardsit and get rid of the ego and explore ourselves.
Everyone would love God the creator if they are proved
by God that He exists. And probably people will love Him
wholeheartedly but than one may also understand this
fact that people will love God for their on selfish reasonsand God certainly does not want that. Also He does not
want to impose himself on others/ His children as hewants them to discover themselves about Him through
Karma/ Actions. He wants us to ponder firstly about hisexistence than moving on to the next step about
knowing him and thereafter following the path ofknowing him. The moment we know Him we become a
realized Soul and come to know our true nature, whichdoes not have any sex, which is away from competition,
and prejudice without any opinion or judgments.
To kn ow God- :
Give up your comforts - Wake and get out of your
Comfort Zone. Comforts of seeing your own
conveniences, comforts of expecting desired results,
comforts of hoping that things will change withouthaving to work without it. Whatever you do should be
done with an intention of surrendering your actions to
God and not for yourselves. The five senses are alsoGod's creation and you are also his creation than howcan we forget our creator though we are workingthrough his weapons.
Create the urge to know God - We are in this world and

we should try to know first of all our purpose for beinghere. Question yourself who am I? What am I doing
here? Where did I come from? Who is my Master? What
can my master expect from me? The best way to know
the answers is to look within yourself and get obsessedby these questions till you find an answer. And this is
not easy because the kind of worldly attractions we havearound us will discourage us from knowing and thinkingabout the above questions because you might feelstupid why is it I need to know this. Look at others theyare not bothered about it. Yes others are not bothered
because they are Slaves of their Desires those desires
that never end though they die.
Remember what ever you do in life is contagious - youmay find your self out of place as people will not have
the urge to know those questions but slowly you would
be with people who will have the same urge and thanyou will find that you are not the only one who wanted
to know but there are many like you. There was anexperiment performed on the University students
(smokers& non smokers) in USA. When the smokers
were asked what percentage of students they thought
smoke and the answer was 70%. When Non smokerswere asked what percentage of students did not smoke
the answer was 80%. Than the researchers found that
smokers used to be in few areas of the campus
especially near the vicinity of stores, which soldcigarettes and since they use to see many students
around them they assumed 70% smoke. Similarly the
non- smokers seldom used to go where smokers were
and they also used to seen in large numbers atparticular places and they also assumed that 80% of the
students don't smoke. This is precisely what happens,
an individual with the urge for God and real questions oflife. If he thinks about God he discourages himself as hebelieves that around him no one is interested in suchstupid questions than why should I. Similarly when your
urge grows to know God which is actually fundamentals
of life you will be surrounded by people who also havethe same urge to know God and are far away from
materialism and that is the time you will get assurance
that there are many others who think like others. Try it;
you will succeed all the best.

Be L ike a T ree
By Kapil Kakar
We all desire to evolve and attempt to make our lives
better but we often fall short of our desires. In order toevolve, our first step should be to quit desiring. Desire is
a manifestation of our craving, which we wish toaccomplish some day and it further creates expectations
from everyone in and around us including ourselves.
Our reaction to our expectations is usually in the form of
anxiety, pain, stress, self-condemnation, accusation etc.But the question is, why does this happen to us? It
happens because we are weak and are surrounded byuncertainty. Our actions are small but our expectations
are very high. We have got into the habit of reactingabout everything irrespective of whether it concerns us
or not and if at all it concerns us our reactions aretotally self-centered. We have become so obsessed with
ourselves that we have created a world of our ideas,
thoughts, principles and procedures and anything that
falls beyond it is considered to be wrong by us.
It may not seem like the perfect comparison, but whenwe compare ourselves with a tree, we find that we dont
have to face even one per cent of the difficulties facedby a tree. Still, a tree always seems to be relaxed and
calm. It does not oppose anything though it experienceseverything. It doesnt have a home of its own but
becomes home for so many living beings.
A tree always seems to be relaxed and calm. It does notoppose anything though it experiences everything.
A tree provides home and shelter for everyone without
discriminating between animals and humans or between
the stronger and the weaker and is thankful to othersfor giving it an opportunity to serve them. On the other
hand, we humans fight over small pieces of land. And if
we provide shelter to anyone we either charge rent ordo not hesitate in mentioning the favour that we havebestowed on our fellow human beings.
A tree remains unaffected by strong winds, scorching
heat, cold breeze, rain etc as it stands still on its ground

firmly facing the different forms and forces of naturewith indifference. On the other hand we humans have all
the reasons to complain about the heat, cold, changing
weather and other inhospitable conditions.
A tree experiences everything blissfully through thepassing phases of time as it knows that everything istemporary. But we humans react negatively to changes
because we expect everything to be unchanging and
permanent. Hence we cry and complain when nothing is
working for us because we feel nothing will ever workfor us.
A tree experiences everything blissfully through thepassing phases of time as it knows that everything is
temporary.
A tree remains static, not interested in anything but
itself. That does not mean it is selfish, after being static
also it is home for the animals etc. It meditates on itselfin an attempt to realise its creator. But man does not
have time to even think about all this - he is onlyinterested in knowing how he can grow materially and is
more interested in knowing what is happening outsidehis own life, especially in others lives.
Instead of learning from trees, man has even exploitedtrees for his own selfish interests, out of arrogance that
no one is better than him, forgetting that the life of a
tree is much more useful than that of us humans.
A tree does not react to wrong or right but observes
everything as a beautiful experience.
A tree is strong. Nothing disturbs it. It experienceseverything without complaining. The wind blows past it,
the sun throws scorching heat at it and it is still the
same. Then the rain comes and again it remainsunaffected. Animals and humans take shelter under itand it is more than happy to give what they want. Birds
make their nests in it, animals eat its fruits, but the tree
is happy because others are happy. It remains within
itself all the time; it does not react to wrong or right butobserves everything as a beautiful experience without
being judgmental. As stated in Bhagvad Gita,

In the Gita (20-23) Lord Krishna says: In the stage ofperfection called trance or samadhi, ones mind is
completely restrained from mental activities by the
practice of yoga. This perfection is characterised by
ones ability to see the self with a pure mind and torelish and rejoice in the self. In that joyous state, one is
situated in a boundless transcendental happiness, realised through transcendental senses. Establishedthus, one never departs from the truth, and upongaining this, he thinks there is no greater gain. Beingsituated in such a position, one is never shaken even in
the midst of greater difficulty. This indeed is the actual
freedom from all miseries arising from material contact.

What you make of your life eventually will affect you,
and no one else is bound to help you in that endeavour
All of us are unique individuals. We have our own uniquenatures, behavioural patterns and distinct worldviewwhich influences the way we approach and realise ourgoals. That said there are common character traits
between successful people. While your inherent nature
is inborn, positive qualities can be imbibed andingrained.
Caut ion:
Erring on either side of caution can stymie your chancesof making best use of the opportunities which come your
way. The trick is a balancing act; take risks but do not
be reckless. Analyse your situation and take calculated
chances. Being paralysed by fear of failure will negatechances of success.
Fai th :
Faith has two dimensions; faith in yourself and your ownabilities and in a belief system, religion and God. Both of
these are essential to overcome obstacles in your
pursuit of success. Confidence and conviction arise fromyour faith in yourself while faith in a higher power willsupport you in times of adversity.
Proact ive :
Understand that the world does not owe you a thing.
What you make of your life eventually will affect only
you and no one else is bound or obligated to help you inthat endeavour. Therefore do not wait around for thingsto happen or for life to guide you. Take control of your
life and steer it where you want to. Be the captain of
your ship.
Sens i t i v i t y :
Sensitivity towards others is perhaps the most enduring

glue which will bond others to you. Treating everyoneequally irrespective of their social or financial
backgrounds and never being condescending will earn
you respect from people who will support you when the
time comes. Remember it is often not a savvy talker butan empathetic listener who is remembered by people.
Do not try and bring people around to your views andopinions and respect everyone's legitimacy ofspokesmanship.
H u m i l i t y :
Humility is not self disparagement. Being humble means
simply standing in awe in front of all that you do notknow. Humility opens the door to learning and is not e
to be confused with meekness. The greatest people are
always the most humble

Choos ing one ' s g oa ls
By Kapil Kakar
We need to realize and accept this fact unequivocally
that we all are special and have exclusive distinctqualities and traits. We individuals are born with
different inclinations and interests.
Therefore, we need to choose a profession that
STIMULATES our minds and for which we are
PASSIONATE about. Any field that we might venture in,if we lack interest towards it, we can never grow in it.
Lack of interest results in lack of creativity which further
results in lack of effort.
Looking closely at our interest and passions through newborns, every new born behaves differently. One may be
active, other sublime. As the baby grows, some likeplaying with a car, other with a bat, the third with a
gun. This means every child has a different interest and
inclination and similarly while choosing and preparing for
our profession we need to respect our interest andinclination towards the field.
Therefore, introspect and discover your innate qualities
which compliment your interest and choose theprofession that you would like to pursue. Even after
introspecting in detail you will find professional conflict/options. Like should I go for medical or do I opt for Bio
technology. You may find both might naturally interest
you.
Research on the optional fields, introspect by writing
about them and yourself in details and see which fieldyou find self to be more compatible with.
Money should not be the key in choosing the professionthat you want to venture into. Since, there is no
profession which does not give money/ wealth. Money
belongs to people who focus on their profession.Remember not all Lawyers, Architects, ChartedAccountants etc have a good practice.
While choosing the profession one should not get
allured, attracted and influenced by friends taking the

same profession which they have opted for or trying toimitate an uncle who has excelled and made lot of
money.
Also there has not been a single profession that can
bring you success, money, glory without hard work.
Dont wait for wealth to come to you but create wealthwith your Karmas through your profession.
Lastly if your colleague does better then you, onesubstantial factor may be that he had chosen aprofession that he loved and you imposed the same on
yourself self unwillingly. It takes COURAGE to follow
ones goals.

Conf idence k ey t o success
By Kapil Kaka
Situations such as job interviews, making presentationsand reports, public speaking and the like require
confidence as well as the pre requisite skill or
knowledge. You may be well equipped to deliver a
speech after hours of practice with the script but if your
confidence deserts you, then no amount of preparationwill suffice. Confidence springs from conviction and is
not to be confused with impertinence or condescension.
Confidence will allow you to maneuver even negative
situations to your favour. Practising the following
exercise will help you conquer your fears and boost yourconfidence.
St e p I : Sit in a relaxed manner with a straight spine, eyes closed and observe your breath. Inhale and exhale
normally.
St ep I I : Visualise a situation in the past when you feltflustered or lacked confidence. As an illustration, let's
consider a job interview; visualise the interviewer asking
you questions and then see yourself giving self assuredknowledgeable responses. Visualise the interviewerappreciating and being impressed by your answers and
demeanour. Be confident in your visualisation and see
the positive outcome. Do not try and think about
negative consequences arising out of your fears.
S t e p I I I : Make a body movement. This could be a
clenched fist or clasped hands or any other movementwhich you would feel comfortable replicating in the reallife situation. Stay in the new pose for five minutes as
you continue to visualise yourself dealing and interactingwith the person on the other side.
Step I V : Slowly open your eyes and look at the new
pose which you made while visualising. Keep looking at
the new pose for 20 seconds and close your eyes again.
Open your eyes after five minutes and see the samepose again. Next time, whenever you find yourself in the
situation which you had visualized, make the same

Crea t ing oppor tun i t i es
By Kapil
Kakar
Here Kapil Kakar sheds light on rhythm, initiative andawareness the three qualities that are necessary to
create and make the most of your opportunities.
Opportunity knocks only once. In today's dynamicand competitive world it is imperative not only to availevery opportunity which comes along but also to create
opportunities where there seem to be none. We often
indulge in wishful thinking, desiring one man's lineageand another's wealth. It's true that some people are
blessed with ample opportunity but paradoxically quite
often such people fail to capitalise on their position. Onthe other hand, all impediments and seeminglyinsurmountable limitations melt away from the path of
the person who goes about planning and controlling his
own destiny.
R h y t h m :
It's important to keep your 'juices flowing'. People often
stagnate waiting for the right opportunity. They find
themselves unable to mobilise themselves when thetime comes. It's important not to lose your creative

possible that you may miss out an opportunity simply
because you did not know it was there. It is not always

because you were ignorant. Opportunities are all aroundus; it's just a matter of spotting and utilising them.

DETACHMENT THE PATH TO SUCCESS
By Kapil
Kakar
Many people when asked to become detached fromworldly desires get petrified. They immediately startvisualizing themselves having, left their homes, wearing
saffron clothes, with long beards and they are either
sitting in Himalayas or they are roaming about from city
to city, from one place of worship to another afterquitting their family life. Such has been the
misconception about Detachment that the best thing
that can happen to human being has been depicted as apsychotic happening. Detachment does not necessarilymean that you leave your home or your family or your
work. Paradoxically, it will get you more peace, happiness, joy and materialistic things. There are many
people who do not have the desire to work for money orother materialistic things but they want to work for
humanity and in return money, fame etc is bestowed
upon them by Nature. This is a very subtle Law of
Nature that if you are running after a materialistic good,it will make you run after it even further.
You certainly have a duty and responsibility towards
your family members and society. In Bhagvad Gita InCh III Text (8) Lord Says : PERFORM YOUR
PRESCRIBED DUTY, FOR DOING SO IS BETTER THAN
NOT WORKING. ONE CANNOT MAINTAIN ONE'SPHYSICAL BODY WITHOUT WORK. Therefore
Detachment does not mean that you do not perform
your duties. If that would be so then lord Krishna would
not have stressed on Duty.
Detachment basically means not to rejoice uponachieving something pleasant and nor to lament upon
receiving something unpleasant. It is a state where aperson is unaffected with the results he gets. He is
always doing his best at work giving more then 100%,but is unconcerned about the results of his work. It
means that you perform your work without expecting
results from the work executed by you. A detached man
is always fulfilled and contented in life. This however, does not mean that he is so satisfied with his
circumstances that he does not work at all or ignores his

duties. Satisfaction is the level where a man is happy
with whatever he has and the way he is working, and at
the same time he wants to and tries to do better. But
this does not mean that he is dissatisfied with hispresent performance. He keeps making efforts and
experimenting with his business or service activities and
is progressive in nature. The only difference is that hesurrenders his actions to God and, therefore, does notlet the pressure of work build on him, and when there is
no pressure one can definitely work in a superior
manner. Since such a person is not attached therefore,he is fearless and has a very clear mind, he does not doany wrong, and is able to distinguish between right andwrong and ultimately save him from taking wrong
decisions.
Closely analyze your life and observe what attachmenthas given you. It would have given temporarysatisfaction and happiness here and there, that too
when you would have achieved your goals. But have you
ever wondered at what cost. Yes at the cost of worry, stress, restlessness, agony, pain, heart-brakes. This
means when you were in the pursuit of your goal withwhich you were extremely attached, you only got
negative emotions in return and when you achieved
your goal you got temporary happiness. Ask yourself
which period was longer getting to the goal or achieving
it. Obviously getting to the goal was longer becausewhen you reached your destination with all that stress
and anxiety, you relaxed for some time. All this you did
only to boost your ego for sometime and get happiness. And thereafter you started running after some other
goal. And this way the beautiful life is wasted. Logically
speaking if you are attached to the results of your
actions and if you are successful you tend to getoverconfident for your next job and if you fail to achieve
your goal you land up in under-confidence, depression
etc. Therefore on both sides of attachment you have aproblem. And only solution to that problem isDETACHMENT'.
Even to control one's mind detachment is necessary. As
stated in Bhagvad Gita IN CH=VI TEXT(35) LORD SAYS:
O MIGHTY ARMED SON OF KUNTI, IT IS UNDOUBTEDLY
VERY DIFFICULT TO CURB THE RESTLESSNESS OFMIND, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE BY CONSTANT PRACTICE

AND DETACHMENT. Such is the power and importanceof detachment, to control the ever- uncontrollable mind
it plays a pivotal role.

Do a l l roads lead to se l f r ea l iza t ion
By Kapil Kaka
Self-realization or merging with God or Nirvana is something everindividual will find some day including atheist especially those wh
are always trying to prove that God is non- existent or a feacreating illusion. The time of self-realization can be this very minutas it also can be millions of years ahead. But the main question heris how does one achieve self-realization?
Self- realization as the name suggests is to realize self. Who arwe? Where did we come from? What is our purpose of existence ois there purpose of existence or not? There are myriad of similaquestions, which we have often neglected initially and eventuallignoring them completely, as so busy and engrossed are we in oulives about which strangely we hardly know about. There wermillions of people who existed hundred years back who are no morand there would be millions of more hundred years from now o
whom we would not know anything. Despite of all these facts whuman beings are not inquisitive to discover our real self. One doenot know whether one should call this ignorance of human being asad or unfortunate but definitely one can call not discovering ooneself as living in a fool paradise.
Therefore, if one does not want to be static in life by being aagnostic one will have to act to take action and wipe out cloud oignorance with the weapon of knowledge. If one believes in God andBhagvad Gita then one finds Lord Krishna very clearly informing anddescribing about self-realization.
Text 18 Ch-III A self-realized man has no purpose to fulfi l l in thdischarge of his prescribed duties, nor has he any reason not tperform such work. Nor has he any need to depend on any livin
being.
Text 8 Ch-VI a person is said to be established in self-realizatioand is called a yogi when he is fully satisfied by virtue of acquire
knowledge and realization. Such a person is situated i
transcendence and is self- controlled. He sees everything-whether ibe pebbles, stones or gold-as the same.
IN CH=VI TEXT (20-23) LORD SAYS: IN THE STAGE OPERFECTION CALLED TRANCE OR SAMADHI, ONES MIND ICOMPLETELY RESTRAINED FROM MATERIAL MENTAL ACTIVITIES BPRACTICE OF YOGA.THIS PERFECTION IS CHARACTERISED BONES ABILITY TO SEE THE SELF WITH PURE MIND AND TO RELISAND REJOICE SELF. IN THAT JOYOUS STATE, ONE IS SITUATED IBOUNDLESS TRANSCENDENTAL HAPPINESS, REALIZED THROUGTRANSCENDENTAL SENSES. POSITION, ONE IS NEVER SHAKEN EVEN IN THE MIDST OFGREATER DIFFICULTY. THIS INDEED IS THE ACTUAL FREEDOMFROM ALL MISERIES ARISING FROM MATERIAL CONTACT.
I N CH= XVII I TEXT (53) LORD SAYS: BEING PURIFI ED BY HIS
I NTELLIGENCE AND CONTROLLING THE MIND WI TH
DETERMI NATI ON, GI VING UP THE OBJECTS OF SENSE
GRATIFICATI ON, BEING FREED FROM ATTACHMENT AND HATRED,WHO EATS LITTLE, WHO CONTROLS HI S BODY, MIND AND POWER
OF SPEECH, WHO IS ALWAYS IN TRANCE AND WHO IS DETACHED,FREE FROM FALSE EGO, FALSE STRENGTH, FALSE PRIDE, LUST,
ANGER AND ACCEPTANCE OF MATERIAL THI NGS, FREE FROMFALSE PROPRIETORSHI P, AND PEACEFUL-SUCH A PERSON I S
CERTAINLY ELEVATED TO THE POSITION OF SELF-REALIZATI ON.
Self- realization can be achieved through Bhakti or Devotion, Karmaor Action and Gyan or Knowledge. These are three roads, which aresaid to take one to God. If one looks at these three closely one willfind that devotion has to be complimented with action. You got toact to show your devotion to God. Similarly one has to perform
action to search for knowledge, no matter which knowledge spiritualor material. Also what instigates us to act is knowledge anddevotion. That means without the purpose of knowledge or devotionaction cannot take place. This simply suggests all these three thingsare interconnected and they do not form three different roads butconstitute of one broad road, which takes a person to self-realization.

DOES GOD CONTROL US OR W E CONTROL
OURSELVES?
By Kapil Kakar
Are we being governed or are we governing ourselves? This question must have knocked every individual mind
at one time or another. Who should one blame or creditfor poverty or richness respectively. Is it the individual
responsible for his every act or is it God/ Nature, who is
creating difficulties, pain sorrow and happiness as per
his choice.
Certainly if it is God/ Nature then there is very little one
can do or to be more precise nothing can be done aboutit. Apparently we are puppets in His hands. But on the
second thought one fails to understand what pleasure isGod deriving out by controlling us. What fun is he
getting when he makes someone rich or poor? Why is hegiving only some people the best of clothes, houses and
food and keeping others without the same? This act is
mostly seen in movies or real life. When a cunning king
or egoist rich man, treats an ordinary man like an insectand rewards or punishes him with riches or death
according to his whims and fancies. Everything
depending only on his mood, attitude or whichever way
he feels pleased without the ordinary man deservingneither of the too.
If one looks at the text of Bhagvad Gita one can
certainly find the answer.
In Text 9 Ch=9 Lord Says: ALL THIS WORK CANNOTBIND ME. I AM EVER DETACHED FROM ALL THESE
MATERIAL ACTIVITIES, SCATED AS THOUGH NEUTRAL.
In Text 29 Ch=9 Lord Says: I ENVY NO ONE, NOR AM I
PARTIAL TO ANYONE. I AM EQUAL TO ALL. BUTWHOEVER RENDERS SERVICE UNTO ME IN DEVOTION
IS A FRIEND, IS IN ME AND I AM ALSO A FRIEND IN
HIM.
In Ch=5 Text 15 Lord Says: NOR DOES THE SUPREME
LORD ASSUMES ANYONE'S SINFUL OR PIOUSACTIVITIES. EMBODIED BEINGS, HOWEVER, ARE
BEWILDERED BECAUSE OF IGNORANCE WHICH COVERS

THE REAL KNOWLEDGE.
In the above texts God has clearly said that he is
detached and neutral. He has stated that he is
unconcerned about what individuals are doing. And if itis so then how can he control us. He further says that he
is neutral and impartial. He does not influence or createcircumstances for anyone whether it be a good or a bad
act.
This makes one thing amply clear that God is notcontrolling and interfering in our life. It also makes
another thing clear that if it is so then we are the
masters of our living. We are all blessed with His free
will and the onus squarely lies on us how we wish orwant to use our free will. Therefore we are all
responsible for our own circumstances or in other wordsour circumstances reveal us. And if that is so then there
is no scope for luck and predestined fate. Luck can bedefined, as someone getting something that he or she
does not deserves. And one still insists on the luck
factor then once again it makes God Partial, because as
the actions are in our hands and not its results. Theresults are in the hands of God who is operating through
His unbiased Laws, which we call the Laws of Nature.
Swami Rama in his book Living with The Himalayan
Masters said I was instructed by my master not todrink from or bathe in the water of Ganges with any
idea that by doing so my sins will be washed off. Onehas to reap the fruits of his Karma. Learn to perform
your duties skillfully without aversion or attachment,
and do not believe that anything can wash off your bad
Karmas.
How true and logical it sounds otherwise it would bemockery of the Laws of Nature that one does something
wrong and subsequently takes a dip in the Holy Gangesand his negative results or consequences are condone.
How can there be any lacunae or flaw in the Laws of
nature? It is hard to get convinced that there areloopholes in the Laws of nature, especially when one
sees the impeccable Nature working in a synchronized
manner and everything happening with full logic to
support it. We do not have to interfere with our

involuntary muscles; they work with such naturalcoordination. The solar system also works with the wayit should work. If Nature is a perfectionist in creatingother things perfectly then how can it blunder with the
Laws? The flaw is in our understanding of the Nature. If
we understand happenings of Nature we call it Science
and when it is beyond our understanding we eitherignore it or call it magic.
Therefore we are all creators of our destiny and hence it
is improper on our part to blame God or Nature or ourfriends, foes, neighbor's etc for our circumstances. Youare as much as a child of God as anybody else and howcan God be biased with his children's? I am sure He is
not.
In today's world majority of people blame God for theirfailures and sufferings. They firmly believe in luck, fate, destiny etc. They even curse God for their sufferings.
But do you really think that there is something as fate or
destiny? We will analyze it through this article. I will notonly say that there is nothing as luck but I will go one
step further by stating that there is nothing as fate ordestiny too, or nothing is predestined as many people
think it is so.
If a person (soul) is suffering in life i.e. it is surrounded
by tension, ill health, failure, bankruptcy etc, or is livinga successful, happy, wealthy life having everything whathe desires for. And if he is destined to live as he is
presently living, there has to be some logic behind this,as everything in this world is based on logic and
intelligence. That is why there is reason behind everymuscle whether voluntarily or involuntarily. Everything
has a function and that is based on logic. That is why we
see everything happening in this world with perfection.
We don't hear that today one planet has overtaken the
other planet or planets changing their orbits.
As I can understand, one logic can be that that there is
no logic. Surprised, by this I mean that if we assumethat all our births, our struggles, our success and
failures have been at the mercy of God. This means thatwhatever we have so far got or will get further in lifehave been created by God and has made us all puppets
in his hands and is playing with us all the time as per his
Page 3 Astrology Articles

convenience and pleasure, without us really doing
anything independently. As the word Destiny means that
the things will already happen the way they are
supposed to happen. If that is so, then my next questionis what is God getting out of this, when he destines a
soul to be rich or poor, happy or sad, succeed or fail etc,
etc without soul deserving it. Think what is He gettingfrom all this, where and whenever he wants he punishesthe soul and whenever he wants he rewards the soul
and that too the soul not having to perform any action
(karma) or deserve anything whether good or bad. Thisclearly means God is biased, he is partial and moody aswhenever and whichever way he wants he treats thesoul accordingly.
We can still have another logic to address to which
apparently is more convincing. Some people believe thatour present life is destined as per our previous actions. They say the actions performed in the previous birth,
the result of those actions whether good or bad have
been destined in this birth. If you ponder over this also,my question to you would be, How do we know that
whatever we are doing is the result of our previousactions or this birth is given to us to perform actions
(karma) and the next birth would be destined'. As a
believer of destiny that means you will not be
performing actions in your present life. How do you and
I know, that the present birth has been given to us toperform actions or just have results over our previous
birth?
Nature or God whatever you may call it, who is running
this world so perfectly and impeccably, how can hemake such a blunder. At least I cannot digest this. That
Nature has given mind and intelligence to us to
understand everything except that whether this life has
been given to man to perform actions or is he there to
redeem the fruit of actions of previous birth. This wholething I am sure you would agree is contradicting. I can
assure you that nothing in this world is contradicting or
is coincidence or luck. I would like you to read this againand again till the time you are able to comprehend these
self-created complicated theories of some fellow-human
beings. If you can understand this you will know and
recognizing your purpose of life that will further get youcloser to peace and happiness that everyone strives for.

As in Bhagvad Gita Lord Has clearly said
This above text clearly proves that God is impartial. Therefore God is not dictating on you anything as per
his wishes. He is simply observing each one of you and
accordingly awarding the soul. He is detached and
beyond material activities. In text 29 he talks aboutdevotion but devotion does not mean that you become
saint and leave your family and friends. You can show
your devotion by dong your prescribed duties towards
your family and work. In Bhagvad Gita Lord has saidthat if you do not perform your duties, you will incur sin.
In Text 5 Lord has clearly said that he does not create
any situation for anybody, we do it as individuals.
Therefore make and feel yourself responsible for your
own act. Don't just conveniently put the blame on God.
You get what you deserve and not what you want. Tellyourself you are a child of God and god has nothing
against you. Start taking initiative and overcome fears
that are the obstacles of life. Have faith in God and his
Laws.

By KapilKakar
Complacency is a dangerous adversary, it's not in-your-
face and yet very destructive. History is replete withinstances of powerful companies becoming insolvent and
successful dynamic individuals biting the dust simplybecause they were complacent in their success.Successful entities have to make a conscious effort toview their success in perspective. It's important never to
forget the struggle that led to that success. Create new
frontiers - there is no end to improvement andexpansion.
When a person begins his/her career, then he is filled
with a desire to make a mark, to grow through theranks, accumulate wealth and gain recognition. Once allthese goals have been achieved, it often happens thatthe person runs out of steam in terms of motivation andnew goals. New goals can transcend personal desires
and encompass the family, organisation and society as a
whole. For an organisation, constant innovation is theonly attribute that allows it to stay ahead of the
competition. Being over cautious is as detrimental as
being reckless. Remember the adages, 'He who
hesitates is lost' and 'Look before you leap'.
They may seem contradictory but the secret is treading
the middle ground. Complacency always leads torecklessness; a person is so confident of things falling
into place and going off well that he/she does not
evaluate and react appropriately to different situations.
It's important to believe in yourself and supplement thatwith judicious thought and action. A useful tool to
overcome complacency is to consider each situation
from a desperate viewpoint. Think of how you would
assess and respond to the situation if you hadinadequate resources and were desperate to overcome
the situation in your favour. There is no room for
complacency in such a hypothetical situation and you
will find yourself shrugging off complacency and actingwith the urgency required.

Empowering others is a fascinating way of adding value
to other people's lives and one's own at the same time. While the other person benefits in terms of confidence,
you benefit by expanding your network and by gainingan ally.
Empowering is all about giving choices and notdominating or imposing your beliefs on others. It helps
to be tactful to guide the other person to a conclusion
which he feels he's arrived at by his own volition with
minimal assistance from you. Empowering others is notabout advising. Giving advice is based on the
assumption that you know more or are superior in someway to the other person. It is counter productive if yourun the risk of hurting the other person's ego in whichcase he/she is least likely to follow your advice. Theother person should feel as if he/she has a choice in the
matter and not because there is no other recourse.
To empower means to help the person develop his own
creativity and problem solving ability rather than createa dependency on any other person. Ask lots of open
ended questions. Questions like "Why do you think so?""What do you think can happen?" allow the other personto vent and create an instant bond of understanding.
Answers to such questions allow the other person toclarify his own thoughts and often provide solutions. It's
important to note that the questions need to be
pertinent. More relevant questions will naturally follow
as the conversation progresses. After the discussion hasthrown up viable courses of action then suggest
alternatives by posing questions to the other person
rather than telling him what you think should be done.
For example, "Do you think we can do it this way?""Should we implement this?" and so forth. This makes
the other person feel that it is he/she who is making the
decisions and choosing his/her own path. Once you
learn the art of empowering others it forms the basis oflong lasting personal and professional relationships.

We need to realise that all of us have certain distinct
traits or qualities. As individuals, we are born with
different inclinations and interests. So, we need tochoose a profession that we're passionate about, says
Kapil Kakkar
If we enter a field that does not interest us, we can
never grow in that field. Lack of interest results in lackof creativity, which leads to lack of effort. If you observe
closely, you'll find that even as newborns, individuals
behave differently. One baby might be active, while the
other is quiet. As children grow up, some like playingwith cars, some with bats, and some with guns. This
means that every child has different interests andinclinations. Similarly, while choosing and preparing forour profession, we need to respect our interest andinclination towards that field. So, introspect and discoveryour innate qualities which compliment your interest and
choose the profession that you would like to pursue.
Even after introspecting in detail you may face a conflict like should I go for medical or do I opt for bio-
technology?'. You may find that both interest you
naturally. Research on the options, introspect by writing
about them and yourself in detail, and see which field ismost compatible. Money should not be the key to
choosing a profession as there's no profession which
does not bring wealth. Money belongs to people who
focus on their profession. Remember, not all lawyers, architects, charted accountants have a good practice.
While choosing a profession, do not get influenced by
friends who have taken up the same profession or try to
imitate an uncle who has excelled and made a lot ofmoney. Also, there is not a single profession that can
bring you success, money or glory without hard work.Don't wait for wealth to come to you but create wealth
through your karma. Lastly, if your colleague doesbetter than you, a crucial factor may be that he has
chosen a profession that he loved and you had imposed
the same on yourself unwillingly. It takes COURAGE to
follow one's goals.

What should I do? What should I become? How can I beSuccessful? How can I make Money? How can I leavemy name behind in this world? These questions though
seemingly small haunt every child right from thechildhood as they have a very deep hidden meaningabout life, which is unexplored, and carry maximum
impact to start with when a child is in Class X. This is
the first major decision making phase in a child's careeras he starts giving direction and focus to his career by
choosing a particular stream. The next major phase that
pressurizes him is when he enters class XII (though the
pressure starts coming on him immediately after Xth).He with his parents tends to visit counselors and
educationalist seeking their assistance on choosing his
career. The purpose of the visit is also to know which
field today or in near future has a chance to grow. (Thisis like going to a broker and asking him which share
today or in near future he anticipates to excel). But
more often than not we tend to not understand theanswer is lying within us and not outside us. Andfortunately this is what counselors and educationist try
to explain to child today that is to choose a career withwhich he has interest and are comfortable and confident
about. After all every career has got successful people.

EVEN A WISE MAN ACTS ACCORDING TO HIS NATURE,
WHICH HE HAS ACQUIRED FROM THE THREE MODES.
WHAT CAN REPRESSION ACCOMPLISH. Hence hy doyou want to repress your natural abilities.
Have you ever thought about why is it God has not

intelligence levels are all different. Similarly we all havenatural likes and dislikes, whether it is about choosing

uniqueness we have to preserve it by working on it andnot ignoring it.
But most of the time or 95% of the students easily giveaway their uniqueness by not following their own natural
instincts, by getting influenced with the thoughts of
others, desire of parents or the money and glamourinvolved in a particular field. And this triggers chaos intheir lives. Chaos because they are trying to show their
dexterity on one thing with which they are not naturally
comfortable and interested. And the result is they failthan succeed most of the time, they loose than win andthey are ignored than appreciated. IN CH=III TEXT (35OF BHAGVAD GITA) LORD SAYS: IT IS BETTER TO
DISCHARGE ONE'S PRESCRIBED DUTIES, EVEN
THOUGH FAULTILY, THAN ANOTHERS DUTY PERFECTLY.
DESTRUCTION IN THE COURSE OF PERFORMING ONE'SDUTY IS BETTER THAN ENGAGING IN ANOTHERS DUTY,
FOR TO FOLLOW ANOTHER'S PATH IS DANGEROUS.
IN CH=XVIII TEXT (47 OF BHAGVAD GITA) LORD SAYS:IT IS BETTER TO ENGAGE IN ONE'S OCCUPATION,
EVEN THOUGH ONE MAY PERFORM IT IMPERFECTLY,THAN TO ACCEPT OTHERS OCCUPATION AND PERFORM
IT PERFECTLY. DUTIES PRESCRIBED ACCORDING TO
ONES NATURE ARE NEVER AFFECTED BY SINFUL
REACTIONS.
As a child if your natural interest has been in books orsketching and by force if you are compelled to hold a bat
or tennis racket in your hands just because there is lotof money involved in it, do you think you will be able to
excel in cricket or tennis. The answer is a Big NObecause there are others who unlike you will take up
cricket or tennis naturally because they like and are
interested in it and hence will get a head start. The
result will be they will be better players than you as they
have more interest and more passion to excel than whatyou have.
Off-lately it has been seen that if a child has a liking forCommerce stream or for science stream like mechanical
Engineering which has little to do with InformationTechnology Industry or Bio-Technology still the parents, relatives and friends insists on child to join the aforesaid
professions at the cost of the profession he is good at?

even for a minute or if people do remember me they do it for 5-10 minutes and here youare remembering me for 2hrs every day hence you Deserve 500 points. Now Ramlal,
when he gets up from his two hrs long puja is found screaming at his servant by Godsaying Where are my clothes you fool and omnipresent God takes 50 points away for
his bad behavior and now Ramlal's Balance Sheet reads 450 points. Than there is a phonecall and Ramlal tells his wife to lie that he is not at home. God further takes away 100
points as he is finds Ramlal troubling somebody. Hereafter Ramlal goes to the office andcontinues doing evil, selfish deeds and breaking promises and commitments and at the
end of the day God takes away 700 points from him. Hence the Balance Sheet now readsnegative (-) 200 points. And Ramlal exclaims questioning the existence of God by saying
God do you actually exists or not, the first thing in the morning after bathing is that Iworship you for 2 hrs everyday and forget sustaining me and realizing my submissions
you have further deteriorated by wealth, health and happiness Ramlal does not realizethat reasons for his downfall in life is his actions and not God as He is impartial and His
accounts never go wrong.
As stated in Bhagvad Gita by Lord Krishna:
In Text 9 Ch=9 Lord Says: ALL THIS WORK CANNOT BIND ME. I AM EVERDETACHED FROM ALL THESE MATERIAL ACTIVITIES, SCATED AS THOUGH
NEUTRAL.
In Text 29 Ch=9 Lord Says: I ENVY NO ONE, NOR AM I PARTIAL TO ANYONE. IAM EQUAL TO ALL. BUT WHOEVER RENDERS SERVICE UNTO ME IN
DEVOTION IS A FRIEND, IS IN ME AND I AM ALSO A FRIEND IN HIM.
And perhaps we have millions of Ramlal's balming God for things not happening in theirlives out of ignorance which they continue to live with.

I s God i n t e res t ed i n u s?
By Kapil Kakar
We often hear people suggesting do this, as this will
make God happy and you shall be rewarded or don't dothat, God will get angry and punish you. But the real
question is whether we can make God happy or
unhappy. Do our actions affect Him? Does he feel thepain or pleasure through our action?
God being immortal why should we think our actions are
strong enough to affect Him? Certainly He is not affected
by our actions. He being beyond the three modes ofNature (Goodness, Passion and Ignorance) does not getaffected by our actions. But we are made to believe by
these very modes of Nature that our actions make Himhappy or sad. As said by Lord Krishna in Bhagvad Gita
In Text 9 Ch=9 ALL THIS WORK CANNOT BIND ME. IAM EVER DETACHED FROM ALL THESE MATERIAL
ACTIVITIES, SCATED AS THOUGH NEUTRAL. This
clearly states that God is ever detached from what we
do. He does not react in any manner no matter what wemay think about Him. It is His Laws that act or react but
they also do it in justified manner. God has given us the
freedom of being what we want to be and where we
want to go.
But does this give us a license to do evil and selfish acts.
NO because it is a known fact that our actions and theresults certainly affect us is in form of pain and
pleasure. Definitely nobody wants pains but pleasure is
what everyone looks forward to. And to attract
pleasures and do away with pains we have to follow theLaws of Nature. IN Bhagvad Gita CH III TEXT(33) LORD
SAYS: ALL PEOPLE ARE SUBJECT TO THE LAW OF
NATURE. EVEN A WISE MAN ACTS ACCORDING TO HIS
NATURE, WHICH HE HAS ACQUIRED FROM THE THREEMODES. WHAT CAN REPRESSION ACCOMPLISH?
Since we perform actions for ourselves and the human
tendency is that if we perform good deeds we
immediately think of good results we shall be awarded
with. And if our deeds are evil we first confront theimaginary bad results by telling ourselves we have not
done any thing wrong or since the world does it if I

also do it what difference does it make. Certainly toperform any selfish deed we first have to look for a
suitable excuse before doing so because one cannot do
anything unless and until he is convinced with what he is
doing.
We may think ourselves to be smart enough to foolothers but we seldom realize that we are fooling
ourselves. We can fool the people around, we can fool
the Laws of Land but certainly we cannot fool the Laws
of Nature. And this is certainly not about God beingunhappy with us hence punishing us but God has made
Material Laws and anybody and everybody gets the
results accordingly. Law is same for all and is unbiased.
Hence in this material world we should all attempt doingthings according to Laws of Nature so that our lives do
not become miserable. Create harmony with the Laws.
Remember God is detached from our actions but HisLaws are always looking at us.

I s L if e A l l Abou t Secu r i t y?
By Kapil Kakar
We have been captured by this innocuous word security,
as we totally lay unaware that we are destroyingourselves every minute by being in its captivity. Surely,
we are all striving for making our lives more and more
secure not realizing that we are getting insecure everypassing minute. On what we are depending on will only
give us the opposite i.e. Insecurity. We also believe that
security will give us everything in life and the reasons to
believe this is our present. This is to say that whatever Ihave achieved is because of striving for security. But
strange as it is without delving ourselves on to the other
side, without experiencing the other things we have so
conveniently believed that what we have done is onlythe right thing.
Even Nature shows us Relativity, Good Vs Bad, Particles
Vs Anti-Particles than why are most of us traveling on
the same path of security and not even being
adventurous enough to try the path of Freedom.Probably we think we can get Freedom in life through
security but than that is not possible. Even the band
Queen' who performed the song I Want to break Free
would not have had freedom because they would havebeen attached to things like how many albums would be
sold? Or will be song be a hit or not? If you think that
you don't think much about of security think again you
must be unconsciously surrounded with it.
Economic Security is the foremost one, which any young
individual starting his career will lay preference on,because he has to become financially secure by being
financially independent. He dreams having loads of
money that will sooner or later shall bring him freedom
and will live a good life.
But the security does not end here to his astonishment.Once he has achieved financial security he wishes to get
personally secure. So he tries to be at his best, his
whole objective being laying good impression on others
and to leave a mark behind so that he gets goodattention and appreciation from everywhere. He is
respected and a talked about human being. So he thinks

once he has this than he has nothing more to satisfyand finally he is going to be secure, hence free from
security.
Once being personally secure he now realizes the
importance of getting his child secured. Hence once
again unknowingly he enters into the clutches ofSecurity and he tries to find the best school that can
give his child best education. Even after finding a good
school he is still not secure as he wants to observe the
performance of his child. Hence, once again he isinsecure till the time his child gets secured and by than
he is in late forty's or early fifty's.
All his life is devoted to security instead of knowing
Who Am I and for what, to get secured compositely in
the eyes of the society which he seldom does. He wants
to make money to show it to the society; he wants toensure his child does well again to show it to the
society. And what is society based on? It is based on
hundreds and thousands of individuals who themselves
working on the same attributes as what he does beingIMPERFECT. Are we trying to show IMPERFECT how
perfect we are? Perfectionist can only understand
perfection and Perfection is all about discovering one-
self and not others, knowing one- self and not others. But we are pushing ourselves to material web of life that
will only lead us to attachment and not Freedom.
We continue fighting the battles of life in pursuit of
winning, we win some we lose some but we lose the
War, as we never realize we are fighting a war as well. And by that time it just might be too late.

Or if people do remember me they do it for 5-10

Sheet now reads negative (-) 200 points. Ramlal angrily, exclaims, questioning the existence of God by saying

In Ch=5 Text 15 Lord Says: NOR DOES THE SUPREMELORD ASSUMES ANYONE'S SINFUL OR PIOUSACTIVITIES. EMBODIED BEINGS, HOWEVER, AREBEWILDERED BECAUSE OF IGNORANCE WHICH COVERS
THE REAL KNOWLEDGE.
These above texts clearly depicts that God is impartial,he does not assumes anyone's role or does he induce orcreate circumstances at his whims and fancies. Every
circumstance is created by the individual's actions and
the circumstances are reaction to his actions. Withpositive and negative actions, positive and negativecircumstances unfold respectively. He has His Lawscalled as Laws of Nature, which are working impeccably
on His Behalf.
What are Laws? Laws are the rules and regulations, which are equal for every one of us. Otherwise themeaning of Law would be Lawlessness if they were not
to be same for all of us. Since Laws are same and equal
for every one of us, hence the results as per Karmawould be appropriate. IN Bhagvad Gita CH III TEXT (33)
LORD SAYS: ALL PEOPLE ARE SUBJECT TO THE LAW OFNATURE.EVEN A WISE MAN ACTS ACCORDING TO HIS
NATURE, WHICH HE HAS ACQUIRED FROM THE THREE
MODES. WHAT CAN REPRESSION ACCOMPLISH?
If one does not accept the results bestowed upon by theLaws of Nature, one should think again. Instead ofquestioning the Laws of Nature one should question his
own actions. After all as the above text says what canrepression accomplish? One should not brood over the
result but should proactively introspect on his thoughtsand actions. Problem is not with the result but with the
understanding that we have about them.
If we Look around us, we don't hear that today one
planet has overtaken the other planet or planets arechanging their orbits or Jupiter has become smaller thenMercury. Similarly, we don't have to pump our hearts to
make it work, nor the lungs, lever etc. This suggeststhat everything in this world is working in synchronized
manner, which also validates that Laws of Nature atwork give results in a logical manner. Surely, when weare not able to comprehend it, we term it as magic, luck
or coincidence.

If you tell a man, who is oblivious about computer, thatthrough computer you can communicate with people in
the different part of the universe promptly, what will be
his reaction? He may exclaim O God what kind gadget
have you send on the Earth that man can communicateanywhere in the world in no time. But the hardware and
software engineers who have worked on the computerknow how it has to be done. Hence, computer is themagical happening or magic for him but for theengineers it is something Logical. Everything in thisworld, as already stated, is working in synchronized and
logical manner but when we are not able to comprehend
what is going around us we call it magic, coincidenceand tend to have feeling of helplessness and
hopelessness.
So, the next time if one feels lost and helpless, one
must remind himself the texts from Bhagvad Gita whichmakes one realize that it is your free will and the Laws
of Nature at work in tandem.

Pace of our Evo lu t ion
By KapilKakar
We evolve with each passing day but at what speed? Wecould be evolving too slowly which is an indicator of
possible de-motivation or lack of purpose or focus. It's
imperative to channelise our speed not only to catch up
with others but also to resurrect ourselves and fill eachday of our lives with a sense of meaning and purpose.
If we evolve at the average speed of mankind, itsuggests that we are motivated, have hope for the
future and a strong desire to reach to our goals, but
keep getting mixed results, both in our favour and
against us and are still waiting and hoping to accomplishour goals. We are slowly moving towards them but are a
bit unsure about whether we will achieve them or not.
If we evolve at more than the average speed at which
the mankind evolves, it indicates that we are beating
the odds, moving towards achieving our goals, andexpanding our experience and horizon. This is an ideal
situation and is totally action oriented, with no space for
procrastination or negative emotions. Ideally we need
only 6-8 hours of sleep which means we should have16-18 hours everyday to use constructively and move
ahead.
The more an individual uses this time the faster he
would evolve. If we sleep, say for 9-10 hours a day, we
are already starting our day behind by 2-3 hours. This
time is irrevocably lost. Our body ideally needs 10minutes of rest to rejuvenate after working for 90
minutes. If we take a 30-45 minutes break, after every
90 minutes or if we are not able to sit and focus for 90
minutes this would suggest that we are not utilising ourtime effectively.
Lastly, after the time spent at work and sleep, the most
crucial factor influencing our evolution is how we spend
the rest of the day. Do we invest a large part of this
time watching television, lazing around, eating or do weinvest this time on ourselves by reading, introspecting,
playing or indulging in a hobby. How we spend our time

Rel ig ion and Sp i r i t ua l i t y
By Kapil Kakar
There is a big difference and no difference betweenReligion and Spirituality. In the advent of this universewhen satya Yuga was prevalent, there was no difference
between religion and spirituality because man
comprehended God and followed his Laws. In Srimad
Bhagvatam you will find lot of kings and people attainingself- realization in that period. But as the time passed by
man started getting more influenced by material nature
than spiritual nature. The result was he started losinghis intelligence, and he stooped to such a level that manstarted propagating religion for his own selfish benefits.
This selfish act of man has led to believe that Yes' thereis a big difference between Spirituality and Religion. And
the difference is that spirituality is God made andreligion is man made because when selfishness started
replacing the true selfless nature of man, he started
twisting spirituality and started making it look different
and that different form is what we call religion. Thoughthis should not be assumed that every individual is
trying to use religion for his own benefits. Inspite of all
this there are still many great people who are spreading
religion which is in its original spiritual form and hasonly one purpose and that is to get man back to his real
and true abode; that is to get him back to God.
For me the worst is over because few centuries back
Kings were seen demolishing religious places, which
they did not believe in. At least this is not to be seen
often now. This also suggests man is evolving positively. And since man is also a part of God therefore the
religion which he is still preaching has not lost
everything. As said in Bhagvad Gita that man is made of
my superior energy. Therefore it should not be assumedthat every individual is trying to use religion for his own
benefits.
The desire of man to control religion for his own benefits
has made religion very narrow minded. This is a major
difference between religion and spirituality. God is notnarrow-minded. Spirituality is broad minded till the
extent man can think broadly and even more than that.

Whatever broad or narrow thought which comes to anindividual's mind come only from God. People think that
God signifies good and evil is signified by demons. Butthat is actually untrue. Whether it is good or bad
everything comes from God. There is no demon, which
is competing with God, and if you still think there is ademon then I would suggest that he is also a part ofGod and he is not doing anything against the wishes of
God. But God has created him so that human being can
understand what good or bad is. Because if there is
nothing bad then we cannot appreciate good also.
There are two planes. One is the spiritual plane and the
other is material plane. The laws of these two planes area little different.
In spiritual plane one is only focused on God as herealizes his true home. In this plane happiness, sorrow,
jealousy, pilferage, truth, excitement does not exist. A
person is calm and detached about the material world ashe sees this world
