from 4pm and continued till 6:30pm. The event was conducted by Amruth and
Prasham on behalf of Pentagram (The Mathematical society of BMSCE). Gos 2.0
was an individual event which received a total of 40-50 registrations and 36 of them
from various colleges participated on the day of the event. The event was a series of
two rounds which was designed for participants to score max points and the winners
were selected based on their points. The winner of the event Game of strategies was
Neeraj from mechanical engineering of PESU and the runner up was Shivam of
BMSCE. Both the winners were given their certificates and cheque of ₹ 1500 and
₹ 1000 respectively by the phaseshift finance committee. Finally, the feedback of all
the participants was that the event was very interesting and fun.

Sharan Rudresh and Arun D K. The event was for teams of 2 with a registration fee
BMS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, BENGALURU-19 Autonomous Institute, Affiliated to VTU
DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND HUMANITIES
of ₹ 100. The event started at 2pm in classroom 5003, 5th floor of PG Block. The
event ended at 4pm. 32 teams participated in the quiz. The first round was a pen-and-
paper test with 17 questions of varying difficulty of the 30 teams, 7 teams qualified
for the next round. The next round had various kinds of questions and sub-sections.
Vallabh R from IIT-Madras and Abhishek Bhat from BMSCE won ₹ 1500 at first
place. Vybhav Jain and Ketaki from MSRIT won ₹ 1000 at second place. The event
received positive feedback from the participants. Some of the participants from
BMSCE showed interest in joining Pentagram at the end of the event.
c) INFINITE HUNT
Infinite Hunt 2.0 was held on 16th
September 2018 at 10 am at MESH. We had 50+
teams participating in this virtual treasure hunt. Event started with an introduction
video in which there was a secret clue unknown to the audience. The first round was
an elimination round with 10 Questions which would then form one key to the next
round. 25 teams qualified to the next round. The second round was a presentation
round, here they had multiple clues with a time limit. The answers to this led the
participants to the final treasure which was infinity. The participants enjoyed the
entire process as it was a better and bigger hunt than last year.
d) GRIDLOCKED
Gridlocked event was conducted on the 16th of September, 2018. The event was
coordinated by Amrutha M and Sumukh B. The event was for teams of 2, with a
registration fee of ₹ 100/team. The event was held at CR 5002 in 5th
Floor PG Block
from 1pm onwards. A total of eighteen teams participated in the event. First round
(elimination round) consisted of logical reasoning questions wherein they had to relate
the answers to complete the maze and find their way out. Ten teams qualified to the
next round. The second and final round consisted of a Math Crossword, in which clues
were given in the form of tricky mathematical questions. After solving the crossword,
the participants were required to arrive at a final word using the clues to decode each
letter using the Morse code. Gowtham and Nagashree from BMSCE were the winners
and, Gagandheep and Swaroop from BMSCE were the runners-up. The winners were
awarded a prize money of ₹ 1500 and the runners-up were awarded ₹ 1000. The event
received a positive response and the participants enjoyed solving the questions and
were impressed by the concept of solving a maze mathematically. Though the Morse
code was given to them to decode the word, many found it difficult to understand and
link the answers to it.
