Berkeley Water Group An IdeaLab funded and supported by the Blum Center for Developing Economies

Meetings every other Monday at 6:00 PM in B100 (Blum Hall).

Our mission is to: ! Cultivate interdisciplinary and informed discussions on the

interrelationships between water, poverty, sustainability, and development;

! Foster an inviting forum where graduate and undergraduate students may present their research and topics of interest relating to water;

! Present the discourses, frameworks, and initiatives in current water research and policies, and how they can be used as tools in the academic study of water;

! Help translate theory learned in the classroom to real world practice, and increase opportunities for students to translate intellectual theory into creative and collaborative solutions;

! Provide fun networking for forward-thinking Berkeley students involved in water, sanitation and hygiene, and cultivating a foundational "water ethic" at Berkeley.

We host a variety of events, from WaterShops—collaborative workshops where participants brainstorm solutions to real-world water problems—to student research presentations and external speakers. This semester, we will maintain a Berkeley Water Blog where students can share their water work and commentary in a public space.

» We are an official BERC community » IdeaLabs are multidisciplinary collaborations between

UC Berkeley graduate and undergraduate students
