Application Specifications Chadux employs Vessels of Opportunity (VOO) to transport and deploy response equipment. VOOs are spill response platforms (not simply crew transport) with trained crew members. There are several classifications of VOOs in Chadux’s program. Class 2- Large Response Vessel Typically a landing craft or tender type vessel. May have some berthing for response personnel. Class 3- Large fishing/ work vessel Larger fishing vessels with deck space for response equipment. Class 4- Small fishing/ work vessel Small fishing vessels with deck space for portable response equipment. Often used to tow and maintain boom.

Vessels in Chadux’s VOO program may be mobilized as soon as response crew arrives. Other vessels may be employed following vessel inspection and crew training.

Wildlife hazing and rehab

Application Specifications Chadux maintains hazing and rehab equipment, primarily for avian species. These kits may be used by contract personnel to reduce the risk of oiling to local wildlife or to capture and treat oiled or injured animals. Hazing kits are packaged in metal Knaak toolboxes. Capture kits are packaged in fish totes. The otter pens are stored in a 40 foot trailer.
