Introduction to ADAMS
The Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) is a web-based database
management tool designed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Its purpose is to assist
stakeholders and WADA in co-ordinating and managing anti-doping activities.
ADAMS is an effective system that cricketers should use to meet the requirements of the ICC
and any other relevant Anti-Doping Organizations. It enables cricketers to do the following:
Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) – ADAMS allows cricketers to submit TUE applications
and monitor their progress. Players can also receive TUE certificates for approved TUE
applications.
Whereabouts – ADAMS enables cricketers selected in one or more Registered Testing Pools
(RTP) to lodge whereabouts on a quarterly basis and update/edit whereabouts information as and
when required.
Online Access - Cricketers have online access to their TUE’s, TUE Certificates and whereabouts
information by accessing the internet from anywhere in the world.
This user guide is designed to assist cricketers through a step by step approach in the use of
ADAMS to perform basic functions required in order to comply with any anti-doping regulations
that may apply to them. Should you have any difficulty in using the system please contact the
ICC on the following contact details:

address that you entered in your ADAMS profile. For details on how you enter your e-mail
address on your ADAMS profile refer to the ‘Getting Started on ADAMS’ User Guide
available on the anti-doping section of the ICC website (www.icc-cricket.com). To request a

ICC - ADAMS User Guide for Cricketers Module 1 – Getting started on ADAMS
Apr 2009
The messages link allows you to receive and review all messages and notifications sent
either by other ADAMS users or generated automatically by the ADAMS system. You
may receive messages from ICC, your National Cricket Federation and/or your National
or Regional Anti-Doping organization (NADO or RADO). The system will also generate
notifications such as reminders of overdue whereabouts submissions, approved or
rejected Therapeutic use Exemptions (TUEs) or TUEs that are soon to expire. It is
therefore important that you login to ADAMS and check messages and notifications on a
regular basis. ICC recommend that you check your ADAMS messages at least once a
week.
You may wish to be notified of messages and notifications received in ADAMS on a
frequently used personal e-mail account (hotmail, Gmail etc) rather than having to login
to ADAMS on a regular basis. You can activate this function through your User
Preferences window by clicking on your name in the top right corner of the screen. For
further details on how to activate this function please refer to the section on User
Preferences on page 22 of this guide.

MY PROFILE(CONTD.) Clicking on the My Profile link takes you to the following page where you will see three
tabs titled Demographic, Sports/Discipline and Security.
SPORT/DISCIPLINE - The sports page enables you to view the registered testing pools
that you may be in (National registered testing pool, International registered testing pool)

responsibilities that you will have as a result of being part of the ICC IRTP.
SECURITY - The security page allows you to view which organizations or agents have
access to your information in ADAMS and what level of access they have.
Whereabouts custodian organization is the organization that has the custodian role
over you as a player within the ADAMS system. If you are in a Registered Testing Pool

information on ADAMS. These organisations are most likely to include your National
Cricket Federation, ICC, National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) or Regional Anti-
Doping Organisation (RADO) and WADA.
Your custodian organization has the sole authority to decide which organization is
granted access to your ADAMS information and what level of access is granted.
To view contact details of any organization that is listed as having access to your
ADAMS information please click on the name of the organization. This will open an
‘Organisation Contact’ window that lists the various contact details of the organisation.

notification is generated informing you of the addition. Please note that you will be held

BASIC INFORMATION
A few other important facts about the operation of ADAMS are:
The system will Time Out if there is inactivity on the site for 30 minutes. By inactivity
we mean no movement, no data submitted or links clicked.
ADAMS does not support the use of a browser BACK button and in most areas of the
site you will discover that it does not work. Therefore you will need to click on the
required links to move around in ADAMS. Remember if at any time you wish to go back
to My Zone (your home page) click on the ADAMS logo as shown below which is
always in the top left corner of every screen.
When you have finished working in ADAMS and wish to exit the site click on the Log
Out link in the top right corner of the header. This will safely exit you from the system
and return you to the Login page. At this point you may safely close your browser.
This is particularly important if using a public computer.
