English Language LearnersWorking with English Language Learners in the classroom
Are you a student teacher this semester? How will you manage instructional practices for your English learners? What is the best way to teach students who are learning difficult subject matter at the same time that they are learning a new language? English learners struggle daily to blend language and content knowledge. SIOP (Sheltered Instructional Observation Protocol) is considered to be the best approach to facilitate high quality instruction for English learners. In this module you will view classroom teachers applying SIOP instructional principles. Session participants will work with peers to create and present a practical SIOP lesson.
