2018 Highlights
Summary of 2018
2018 has been a year of change at Fellows. We have opened a much larger office in London where we can now hold weekly viewings, undertake valuations, and host our clients or friends for events. In both Birmingham and London we have welcomed new members to our team adding to the brilliant service that our customers currently enjoy. In October we broke our house record for an Omega watch. The Omega Speedmaster, dating back to 1960, sold for £88,044 price realised. November saw us hold our biggest jewellery auction of the year where we sold an emerald-cut diamond of 13.86cts for £310,500 including all fees. The overall hammer price of the sale hit £1 million making it the biggest jewellery auction of the year. We have also had the opportunity to participate in exciting events such as The Game Fair at Ragley Hall and The Premier Sports Network’s player care conference. All of our hard work was acknowledge by our industry peers when we were named the leading UK regional auctioneer by the Antiques Trade Gazette.
Charity Work
Fellows are always keen to raise money for charity. This year we participated in the Macmillan Coffee Morning and Jeans for Genes Day, raising money for both charities. We took part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, raising more money for a good cause. We also frequently auction items on behalf of charities in our sales, such as St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford.
We had six timed Costume Jewellery auctions in 2018. The proceeds of a large percentage of the sales benefitted charity. Not only did buyers receive great deals at the auction, charities such as Alzheimer’s Society and Heart Research UK received a boost to help them continue their important work.
History of Fellows
Since 1876, Fellows have been a family-run firm of auctioneers and valuers. As specialists in a variety of fields and with an auction to cater to every need, our continually changing inventory makes us a hub of excitement for vendors and collectors. We always try to find new ways to innovate and expand so that we can improve our service. As well as investing in spacious and comfortable salerooms, we have developed technology to make the buying and selling process as simple as possible. Our website and bidding platforms allow our customers to navigate all aspects of our auctions without ever attending one in person!
