Is your Silca machine up to date?

Did you know the LSC website has copies of all the latest Firmware updates for your Silca machine? Remember these are free, and available for you to download and install via the Wintransfer program. With new cards, codes, series and jaws being released regularly, it's a good idea to keep your Unocode 299, 399 EVO or Triax E-Code or Quattro, or Viper or RW machine right up to date. Talk to LSC's technical support if you need assistance or advice.

We recommend updating your machine at least quarterly, as there are regular releases which add free functionality.

It was with great pleasure that we of�cially opened our new building in Auckland on Saturday, February 18th. Over 75 locksmiths came along to help us celebrate the big day, with many of them enjoying the training sessions, catered lunch and give-aways throughout the day.

The �ne weather allowed us to set up an outdoor marquee, nicely complimented with some great food and coffee. The LSC Showbus was not far away with many customers getting a �rst glimpse at the van before its maiden voyage around NZ.

Event proceeding started off with LSC Managing Director Mark Johnson welcoming guests and declaring the Open House well and truly open.

The day took on an International �avour, with Enrico DePoli, Export Manager from Silca, Italy also in attendance. Enrico is a regular visitor to Australia, and he really enjoys talking directly to the locksmiths about the great products that Silca produce. He was even on hand to draw the major prize of a Bravo Professional to Aotea and Bernie from Smithy’s Locksmiths, our lucky winner who attended the day.

A number of product training sessions were conducted throughout the day. These included a session on the ABUS 14 master key system, a hands on Automotive session on Advanced Diagnostics, covering the most frequently asked questions relating to car programming. A session covering a selection of Silca machinery and the new Silca MH head was also presented by Tom Stokes. The day was a great success, thank you to all involved for their

efforts in getting our branch ready for the day.

Special thanks to all of our customers. It is only with your continued support that we are able to bring great new products to the market and assist you in growing your businesses.

MLAA Rotorua trade &training weekend ‘12

The MLAA Trade & Training weekend is back again for another year at Rotorua. The event has been a great success over the past years and 2012 will again provide New Zealand locksmiths with a new range of training along with an increased number of exhibitors.

The Trade & Training weekend will take place in Rotorua from May 25th to the 27th. The trade show will be on Saturday May 26th.

South Island showbus tour

The LSC Showbus has been hitting the road in NZ, arriving in the Mainland for its pre-winter tour.

Starting the journey out in the South Island, so far it has rolled on through Blenheim, Nelson, Motueka and then twisted its way down the west coast from Westport to Hokitika. We are thankful to have met so many great locksmith operators in this stunning part of the country.

This recent trip had many amazed and impressed by the �t out of the showbus. The road team from LSC is able to demonstrate directly to customers as well as giving them a chance to get some hands on experience with transponder and key cutting gear and a comprehensive range of Electronic Security products. Plenty of great giveaways are also on offer so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

We are looking forward to bringing the showbus to as many more locksmith customers as possible. Our aim is to see everyone in the country by summer! So look forward to the hospitality of LSC coming to you.

Want to stand out in business

today? All you need to do is deliver

good customer service. It doesn’t

always have to be outstanding, just

good. This is because most

businesses are so bad at customer

service.

You don’t need special computer

systems or loyalty programs, you

just have to do the basics and it will

make a significant di�erence.

Here are the basics:

Make the customer feel welcomed.

Regardless whether they are on the

phone or in person, respond to the

customer and their query with

enthusiasm. Don’t make them feel

like it is a burden for you to have to

deal with them or they will take

that burden elsewhere!

Engage with them. Simply pay

attention to them and their

question. Find out their needs and

not just what they want. If they

don’t need something, think of the

long term value of this customer.

Simply making a quick sale isn’t in

your best interest (or theirs).

Remember them. You don’t have

to remember their name but

remember something about them.

Their business, their previous

purchase or simply if they came in

with a dog last time.

Be human. All your customers

want is someone who

understands their problem and is

on their side trying to get it fixed.

If you can do that and be pleasant

and friendly as you do it, you will

keep your customers (and their

friends) for life.

Finally – Be consistent in the

customer service you provide and

enjoy the satisfaction of happy

customers who keep coming back.

Hailing from the picturesque town of Swansea in South Wales, Dawn and husband Collin decided that Wales just wasn’t big enough for the both of them, but New Zealand was!

Dawn came to LSC with excellent Customer Service skills and years of technical industry knowledge.

Dawn’s passions in life are exotic holidays, husband Collin and her two Chihuahua dogs.

It’s been fun having you with us Dawn – long may it continue – when you’re not on an exotic holiday, that is!
