Avraham and Sarah take center stage in the Torah and we follow them as they chart their course (and ours) in life. One of the most stunning imageries found in this Parsha is during a conversation between Hashem and Avraham. Go outside, look down and gaze at the stars – your children will be as numerous as the stars shining brightly in the sky! This is the promise for Avraham’s progeny. From your perspective stars appear to be tiny specks on the sky, but from above their immensity is obvious. Similarly, you may think that you are only one couple and you will have but one child but from My vantage point your offspring are incredible luminaries which will light up the world and serve as the וואלי ל םlight for the nations for all time. May our lights shine brightly for ourselves and our community.
