This week is our final part of our ‘Blank Canvas’ topic.
You have your new solar system and planets; rivers and oceans;
unique theme park; and this week you will add your own rainforest
to your world. You will be learning about rainforests and
deforestation, before creating your own brand new rainforest and
wildlife, if it was all a ‘Blank Canvas’.
Monday: Spelling: This week, our spelling focus is words ending in ‘-ible’. Please start by working
through the PowerPoint. Then, complete the word search to become familiar with the
words and spellings. Finally, please complete the code word jumble puzzle – all of the
jumbled words are this week’s spellings.
Maths: First, please complete the 4 square challenge.
L.O: To calculate volume
Volume is the space inside of a 3D (three-dimensional) shape. Area is the space inside of
a flat 2D shape. Today we are going to practise calculating volume. Please start by using
the My Maths link https://app.mymaths.co.uk/335-lesson/volume-of-cuboids - this is a
lesson about calculating volume. Once you have done that, please complete the task
attached. Remember: Volume = Length x Width x Height.
English -First, please completed the grammar challenge.
L.O: To recognise the features of a balanced argument/discussion text
This week, we will be writing a balanced argument/discussion text about deforestation.
Today, we would like to focus on the features of a balanced argument/discussion, as it
has been a while since we have used this genre of writing. Please go through the
PowerPoint and read the information and the example text carefully. Your task, using this
PowerPoint, is to create your own balanced argument/discussion text checklist. You can
use this checklist to help you with your writing later in the week.
