XiO Cloud

Version 1.29.68

Product Description Crestron XiO Cloud is an IoT platform for deploying, managing, monitoring, and evolving a complete

enterprise AV installation. Using XiO Cloud, users can configure their AV devices in bulk before even receiving

the hardware, making changes from a single cloud-based location for devices located anywhere in the world,

and gather valuable metrics to see how their collaboration environment is actually used.

Known Issues • If settings are pushed to a device during a short network connectivity outage (less than 8 minutes)

they may not be reflected on the device

o Press the Refresh button on the portal to send the settings to the device after connectivity is

restored

• If maintenance mode is enabled and then the name of the group is changed, maintenance mode is

disabled

o The user should re-enable maintenance mode manually

• When claiming more than 500 devices using a .csv file, the portal will show a “file processing failed”

error. All devices are claimed so it is safe to disregard the error.

o Best practice – when importing multiple devices, limit the process to 500 at a time.

Operational Installation/Upgrade Instructions • You must have a username and password to access the XiO Cloud service at

https://portal.crestron.io

• SSO is supported: Crestron XiO Cloud - SSO SAML Integration / Configuration

New Features

• Support for the AirMedia Series 3 models AM-3100 and AM-3200 is added.

Page 2: XiO Cloud - Crestrons Online Help

• The Estate dashboard is updated with new icons and colors • The header color on the XiO Cloud Management Portal is changed to help differentiate the

Management Portal from the Customer Portal • The Room name is added to Alerts

o This is not yet available for ServiceNow notifications

Version Date Release-1.28.66 8/16/2021

New Features

• The Account Name is included in the user profile drop-down. • UserID (Username) and Identity provider are included in the User Profile. • Deleted Users are now completely removed from the XiO Cloud, including the database and

Active Directory (for Crestron.io accounts) o Deleted users can be added back into the account o In a future release users will be able to make users inactive and active.

o When a user edits their own name in the user profile, the portal forces a logout to reflect the changes throughout the account.

• The XIO Cloud Gateway is now separated from VC-4 software and can be installed in a VM as a standalone package.

o VC-4 rooms cannot be licensed on the XiO Cloud Gateway

o The model appears as “XIO-CLOUD-GATEWAY” in the portal

o Customers that have already claimed a VC-4 based XiO Cloud Gateway can migrate existing ancillary devices easily by upgrading to XIO-CLOUD-GATEWAY. Run the new install package “installxiocloudgateway.sh” on the VC-4.

o Customers with existing VC-4 using both rooms and ancillary third-party devices should install the new XIO-CLOUD-GATEWAY package “installxiocloudgateway.sh” on a different server, and then migrate the ancillary devices from VC-4 to the XIO-CLOUD-GATEWAY. Please contact Crestron Support for help with the migration as a backend script will need to be deployed in XiO Cloud.

• Licenses are automatically applied starting with the earliest expiration date when a new room is added (when there are available licenses in the account). This feature can be enable/disabled from the account settings page.

Page 3: XiO Cloud - Crestrons Online Help

• Users can apply licenses with one-click using the “Apply Available Licenses” from the Action drop-down. Licenses are applied to unlicensed rooms with the earliest expiration dates applied first. Users

• The user Access and Alerts page has been redesigned to make it easier to subscribe users to receive notifications.

o Access and alerts are separated in two different tabs. o Users can inherit access/alert rules from groups to the lower-level hierarchy using the

inherit check box.

• For Crestron Scheduling, Modern Auth for O365 can now be fully configured at group level, including

o Tenant ID o Client ID

Device support:

• NVX device level settings including Input, General, and EDID settings

o Users can configure NVX inputs and outputs (HDMI output setting accordion only), only from the device level for all NVX models.

o Users can Monitor all supported status fields and configure the respective alerts. • Zum Wired Hub 4-Series

o Zum-Hub4 devices support with Level 1 features (Network, Time zone, SNTP settings, Firmware upgrade, Schedule Actions, retrieve device logs, Status and Alerts).

o It appears in the XiO Cloud portal as ZUM-HUB4.

Known Issues and Behaviors

Alerts

• Duplicate alert mails are sent for switch devices on all status points

Page 4: XiO Cloud - Crestrons Online Help

XiO Cloud Gateway

• Ancillary devices may be inaccurately reporting status. If this is observed, restart the XiO Cloud Gateway.

Room License Messaging A new feature assigns licenses automatically to a new room as it is added. The licenses are applied from the pool of purchased licenses assigned to the account.

• When applying licenses from the Services page, the unlicensed room count for Workplace Analytics is inaccurate in some message pop-ups.

o Licenses will be applied as expected in these operations even though the displayed room count is off.

User Portal

• When using the search field to search the location in the Access tab, the scope of the search is limited to the selected group. Results lower in the hierarchy are not displayed.

• Users must use shift + ctrl +click to select multiple devices in the Environment Tree. • The Activity logs may show device reboot messages in the wrong sequence and timing.

XiO Cloud Management Portal Release-1.27.60

The XiO Cloud Management Portal provides one stop for dealer and integrators to view and access all their

customer tenants.

Access to the XiO Cloud Management Portal is granted through the dealer area of Crestron.com.

A dealer admin does the following:

1. Enable the XiO Cloud Management Portal

2. Grant XiO Cloud Management application access for users by assigning them as either Integrator

User or Integrator Admin (see the XiO Cloud Management Portal user guide for more information)

3. After being granted access, users can click on the XiO Cloud Management banner on the

Crestron.com homepage to enter the portal.

Version Date Release-1.27.57 7/2/2021

New Features • Room License Scope Change – Users can now view the status and status tab for devices in rooms

that only have an endpoint management service license. o The Support License is required for remote control and alert functionality

• Licensing – The ability to apply licenses to multiple rooms at once is added to the Room Services page. The licenses are applied per type to the room list as presented in the services window.

o On the Room Services page, use the search, date filter, sort and the multi-select check boxes to select the rooms to license.

Page 5: XiO Cloud - Crestrons Online Help

o Use the “Update Multiple Licenses” drop-downs to select the license type and expiration date to apply to the filtered room result set. The drop-down indicates the number of available licenses for each expiration date in the account pool.

o Click the “Check” button when ready to apply the room licenses. o A confirmation pop-up is presented summarizing the intended operation.

▪ Click the Apply button to assign the licenses to the filtered room list. o If there are more licenses available than the rooms in the result set, the licenses will be

applied to all rooms in the set, starting with the first room listed. ▪ The new license is applied to unlicensed rooms. ▪ The new license replaces any existing active or expired license on the rooms in

the result set, unless it has the same expiration date and type.

• Rooms with identical license type and expiration date will be skipped during the bulk application.

o If there are less licenses available than the rooms in the result set, the licenses will be applied to the list in order until the pool is depleted.

• Cut and Paste – a feature has been added for Environment Tree operations. Cut and Paste works similar to drag-and-drop for moving unassociated devices, groups and rooms to different locations in the hierarchy.

1. Select the object to move, use the context menus or keyboard shortcuts to cut the objects.

2. Select the new destination in the tree. 3. Paste the cut devices, rooms, or groups to the selected destination.

Known Issues and Behaviors o AirMedia Devices - AV routing and channel ranking settings must be configured together

when enforcing settings at the group level. All channel ranking settings may get stuck in

delivery pending unless the channel ranking settings are applied along with the AV routing

mode from the group level.

o Cut and Paste

▪ An error message appears when the user tries to claim a device while there is an

unfinished paste action, and the operation fails. Finish or cancel the cut and paste

operation before claiming a new device.

▪ If a user attempts to paste a cut room, device, or group to itself, there is no error

message indicating that the operation is not allowed.

Version Date Release-1.26.36 6/14/2021

New Features • Crestron Scheduling

Page 6: XiO Cloud - Crestrons Online Help

o Added two Automation settings for the Crestron Scheduling application regarding Check-in and No Show functionality

▪ Expiration Time – This the setting that defines the time after the meeting start that users have to show up to the meeting, based on occupancy sensor.

▪ Decline at the Exact Minute – when toggled on, the room must be occupied at the exact expiration time. When off, occupancy detected during the grace period will mark the meeting as attended.

Known Issues o Large firmware updates may time out and fail. For example, the DMPS3-4k-350 and other

DMPS3-4k models will intermittently fail during the file transfer, especially if the available

bandwidth is not optimal. In those cases it may be necessary to load the firmware for a local

network file location.

o For NVX models, duplicate alerts are intermittently sent for the same issue. The duplicates

will be sent in email as well as appear in the alert list for that device.

o For Zoom Room Page Flip mode on 70 series touch screens, the time out settings are

periodically getting stuck with a “delivery to device pending” message. Refresh the device

or refresh the page to clear the pending settings message.

Bug Fixes • Fixed an issue with the Data API where the Invalid Data section of the V2 end point requests was

missing information regarding the devices returning the invalid data.

• Fixed an issue where the portal was showing incorrect device connection status

• Fixed an issue when adding SNMP devices where the Add button was gettng grayed out

• DMPS3 XiO Cloud Gateway support – Third-party Crestron driver-controlled devices registered with the DMPS3 will be listed in XiO Cloud on the “Connected Devices” tab of the DMPS3 and can be claimed and associated to licensed rooms for monitoring

Known Issues o XiO Cloud support for Kardham Digital Building and iOffice Hummingbird will be available

when the TSW-x70 supporting firmware is released.

o The public data API endpoints will not work for 15 minutes after new subscription values are

generated. Wait for 15-20 minutes before using the new values.

o When adding SNMP devices via the XiO Cloud Gateway, the devices intermittently fail to

add. Refresh the portal and re-add.

o Users cannot upload .ch5z web projects on control systems using XIO cloud. This

functionality will be added in a future release.

• Crestron online ordering – Dealers can purchase licenses directly from the Crestron store and apply the licenses directly to their customer accounts from within the Crestron.com dealer portal.

Known Issues o The new Data API calls above will return data in the “invalid results” section of the response

when asking for properties or devices that do not exist. This will be modified in a future

release to return appropriate errors.

Version Date Release-1.23.14 4/19/2021

New Features o ServiceNow support via email is introduced. You can select the alerts XiO Cloud that will

open incidents in ServiceNow when they are triggered.

Page 12: XiO Cloud - Crestrons Online Help

o Support for the Microsoft Teams Panels application mode is added to the Application Mode

drop-down in the Applications accordion. This requires TSx-70 series firmware version 1.003.0082 or

later.

o An enhancement that provides a hot link from the email alert message to the associated

device status page in XiO Cloud is added.

Known Issues o Applying Microsoft Teams Panels appmode from XiO for TSx-70 device running firmware

version 1.003.0082, the “not supported” message is inaccurately displayed in the

portal. The firmware will be installed regardless of the message.

▪ The “Not supported” message will not display with version 1.004 and above.

Version Date Release-1.22.2 4/01/2021

New Features o Granular Licensing Release - Room licenses on a room can expire at different times so that

there is no need to match expiration dates across the account or room. Individual licenses

Page 13: XiO Cloud - Crestrons Online Help

on existing rooms from before the update are modified with the current account expiration

date.

▪ Each room license has an independent expiration date

▪ Room licenses on the same room can expire at different times

▪ Room licenses for different rooms can expire at different times

▪ The account expiration date has no impact on the account.

▪ When a room license expires, the room shall lose all functionality associated with

that license.

• XiO will stop managing all the devices associated with that room and will no longer enforce settings. Scheduled Actions will not get triggered and Program/Project load will no longer be enforced.

• If Endpoint Management (SW-XIOC-EM) expires, but other licenses are still

active, all functionality for the room is disabled.

▪ If Endpoint Management is expired users can still modify or remove other licenses.

▪ Users can add/edit/rename/delete rooms, groups, and devices on accounts without

any active license, but monitoring and management is only available after assigning

the required valid license to the associated room.

Bug Fixes o Fixed an issue where Pending Settings Delivery is indicated in the Status tab for a device

where there are no settings pending delivery

o Public API – fixed an issue where device status is reported as null instead of “Offline”

o Security – implemented Content-Security-Policy by adding the Content-Security-Policy

header to all web pages

Known Issues o Group, Room and Device policies will not get applied automatically for devices that are

already associated with a room when the license expires and is subsequently renewed, or a

license is assigned to the room after making changes at the group level. In these cases, to

apply the group policy, move the device out of the room and then move it back. This will be

addressed in an upcoming release.

o Standard User Role Permissions – Standard Users with the Administrator role will not be

able to add, delete, or rename rooms, groups, or devices. A Standard User will not be able to

build hierarchy or modify the tree. This defect is being fixed in next release.

o The date search in the Room Services section does not return all rooms when the results

include 2000+ rooms with same expiration date of licenses.

Known Issues • Some firmware versions for the TSW-560/560P/760/1060 and TSS-7/10 will indicate in XiO Cloud

that they support the log file retrieval functionality but do not actually support it. Update to

firmware version 2.009.0122.001 or newer in order to use the new feature.

• Some firmware versions that support the log file retrieval functionality will initially show it as

unsupported. Refresh or reboot the device from the Action menu in XiO Cloud to enable the

functionality.

Version Date Release-1.16.5.7 9/1/2020

Changes since Last Version

o Added program details for each program on the control system, including program

name, status, filename, system name, programmer, compiled date, build environment

versions, and include4.dat version

o Added IP table status for each program, including IPID, IP Address/Hostname, Device ID,

Port #, Room ID, Status, Type, Model, and Description

o Added time synchronization settings

o Added control subnet settings including auto network addressing, isolation mode, start

program after router is online, and port mapping

o Added web server, CIP, SSH, and Web XPanel configuration

Page 20: XiO Cloud - Crestrons Online Help

o Added option to decide if the IP table is overwritten on loading a program to a control

system

o Added new alert options for program status

Bug Fixes • Fixed an issue with the device firmware toggle; now, when the firmware update disabled for the

device in XiO Cloud portal, the firmware from XiO Cloud is never pushed to device.

• Fixed an issue where the search results for Settings > Services were not getting paged when

there were more than 25 results.

• Improved some latency when logging into the tenant and for loading pages when groups contain

large object counts

• Fixed an issue with Online Status sorting in the status tab when there are more than 25 results

• Fixed an issue where after converting an account to Room Groups, the release channels are

disabled

Known Issues • Port Mapping for 3-Series/4-Series processors should only be applied from one place – either

from the local device configuration or from XiO Cloud. If settings are applied from the local

device and from XiO Cloud, some settings may disappear, or unexpectedly removed from the

device, or misreported to XiO Cloud.

• Time zones applied from Group should show “Unsupported” on the device level if they are not

supported on the device. Instead, another time zone is applied to the device. This will be fixed

in an upcoming release. The following are the devices affected:
