What Work Still Needs to be Done

• Figure out why device causes software to spew hex info into GUI edit boxes (buffers)

• Reformat device data from USB to fit data display format

• With new file, create graphical output (like previous graph)

• Test lots of different sources to rate chip performance

How This Matters

• Single photon counting with first order energy discrimination offers lower dose and better image resolution than current integrating techniques

Small animal imaging requires high count rates in order for example, to see mouse heart beats.

Direct digital techniques offer significant advantages over current analogue technology and will eventually replace film

Cool things I did here in Europe

• Three hour blackberry picking expedition• Found no less than 4 really awesome playgrounds• Went to Bern (farmer’s market!) and Gruyeres (Cheese!)• Met some awesome new buddies• Had Italian Gelato• Hiked in the Juras• Experienced wandering herds of grazing herbivores with

bells• Lived through crazy Geneva weather and got a sweet

sandal tan
