4. Monday, August 15 Arrival in Madrid
We arrive in Madrid and are met by our representative of Catholic Travel Centre.We proceed to downtown Madrid via private motor coach to our hotel where we have some time to rest from our journey. (D)

5. Tuesday, August 16 Madrid: Opening Ceremony - Liturgy
Today the Opening Ceremony/Liturgy will take place at a site in the environs of Madrid.Transportation to and from the event will be via the Public transportation system included in the WYD Registration package. (B)

6. Wednesday, August 17 to Friday, August 19Madrid Catechetical Sessions

With the assistance of our tour escort, we will begin our pilgrimage walk to the site of the Closing Mass, CuatroVientos (located outside Madrid proper) is the proposed site for the Evening Vigil and Closing Mass.Sleep out under the stars as you pray at the Vigil with thousands of youth from around the globe and with His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI.Sleep tight tomorrow morning is the awesome final Mass. 12. Monday, August 22 MadridExcursion to Avila
This morning we make an excursion to the walled city of Avila. We visit sites connected with St. Teresa of Avila, the mystic saint and one of three women Doctors of the Church. (B)

13. Tuesday, August 23 Return to USA
After breakfast your tour escort will whisk you off to the airport in your private motor coach for your return flight back to the USA. (B)

15. 16. I just spoke with the State Department as well as US Customs and wanted to let you know of a clarification that you may want to pass on to the rest of the group. They indicated that if it is to be a copy of the birth certificate and not the original, either the seal must be visible in the copy or it must be a certified copy. Im not sure how lenient they are on this in actual day-to-day travel, but just in case

  • Make 3 photocopies of your passport (signature pages).One copy in your suitcase, one copy with your group leader, one copy with family back home.

20. Make certain your passport is valid at least six months beyond your intended date of return. 21. Carry your passport securely with you or a copy with you at all times; if once you arrive overseas you do not carry your passport with you, keep it in the safe deposit at the hotel or in a safe in your room. 22. If members of your group are not US citizen, they are responsible for securing their own visas to gain access into a country they are visiting.
