Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful princess named Allie. She was very spoiled, and always got
everything she wanted. Allie had no brothers or sisters, so she was the
center of attention at the royal castle.
Last year, for Allie’s birthday, she got nearly a million presents! She got
games, a bicycle, a jewelry box, and even a new puppy. Allie had
everything she could ever want.
Allie got to go everywhere with her mom and dad. They went to the park, out to fancy dinners, and even to the
movies. Allie was always occupied with something fun and exciting to do.
But all of a sudden, one day, Allie’s parents had to go out of town for a
whole week! They had to fly out of the country and help with a crisis far far away. The worst part was, Allie could not go with them. She was going to
have to stay at home with the butlers and maids at the castle.
Poor Allie did not know what to do. She did not have any friends to play with. Allie was very lonely and very
sad.
It was two days after Allie’s parents had left. Allie sat in her room and stared out at the sunny blue sky, hoping her parents would return soon. All of a sudden, she heard some other children laughing.
Allie wondered who these children were, she had never seen them before. It looked like they were
having a lot of fun. Allie wanted to have fun too. She decided to go outside and introduce herself.
Allie ran downstairs and through the large front doors. “Hello,” sheSaid to the other children. “What are you guys playing?” she asked.
The other two children responded, “we are playing hide and go seek. Do you Want to join us?” Allie shook her head yes with excitement.
Allie introduced herself, and so did the other two children. Their names were Kacey and Spencer, and they lived just on the other side of the hill. After becoming aquainted, the children continued their game of hide and go seek. They played for hours and hours. It was getting darker, and Kacey and Spencer had to go home for dinner. Allie asked if they would be back again to play. “Of course we will” said Kacey, “you are our new friend.”
“Friend?” Allie thought to herself. She had never had any real friends
before. This made Allie very happy. The three friends played every day,
from dawn ‘til dusk.
Allie was a princess. But now, she has forgotten about all her toys, all her
jewelry, and even her brand new bike. Allie had friends, and that is all she
could have ever asked for.
