Post-War Japan

Japan is occupied by the American military.

Part of surrender is to never have a military with an offensive mission.

Creation of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces.

Handed back over in 1952.

A Divided Europe• Soviets and other Allies divide Germany

into 4 occupation zones, each with its own military government.
