RIBBON

Ribbon environment The ribbon environment is the top most area that you can see once you open the new Microsoft applications. In certain application like, outlook for the office 2007 stack, you can only see the new ribbon environment only when you open a process.

Tabs, Groups, Commands In the ribbon we have three things, Namely tabs groups and commands. Where as in tabs we have a set of groups and in the groups we have a set of commands that are specific to the functional area.

FEATURES

To use short cuts hit the alter key on the keyboard

When you want to access the frequently sued text editing features, you can highlight the test that you want to change and then take your mouse a bit upward, You will get a small tool bar something similar to bellow, which we call as Mini tool bar.

You can add most wonted tools to quick access toolbar

CREATING NEW DOCUMENT

Office button

Click on the “Office” button

Select “New” from the menu

Select “Blank document”

Click on the “Create ” button

Select “Open” from the menu

Click on the “Open ” button

If you close the document it willonly close our current document

If you click on the “exit” button it will close both program and document

Click on the “Office” button

Select “Save” or “Save as” from the menu

Set a place to save

SET PASSWORD TO DOCUMENT

When “save as” dialog box appears click

on the tools

Select “General Options” from the menu

Entre Passwords to Open or/& Modify

Click on the “Ok” button

Retype the passwords on “Conform Password” dialog box

Click “Ok”

SAVE THE DOCUMENT AS TEMPLATE

Click on the “Office” button

Select “Save as” from the menu

Select a “Word Template”

Set name & place to save

Click on the save button

EDITING TEXTS ----------To move text

Or Short cut key is “Ctrl+X”

1. Select text2. Right click on the text3. Select “Past”

Or Short cut key is “Ctrl+V”

You can also use Clipboard group to do above

ADDING, CREATING, DELETING STYLES

Other than applying any formatting options manually, you can always save time by sing the Style gallery in applying styles to a set of word phrases.

To add style Select text >> Select “Home” tab >> Select one form the “Styles” group

To create styleCreate style on the work space >> Select the text >> Right click on it >> Select “Styles” >> Click on the “Save selection as New quick style” >> Enter name >> Click “Ok”

To delete style Right click on the style that you wont to delete >> Select “Remove style from quick style gallery

AUTO CORRECT

This feature is very useful while we type a document

It will replace misspelled words

ex :- If you type “THE” as “TEH” it will replace it as “THE

It will replace first letter of every line as upper case

You can use it to type symbols like ®,©,™, 21st

Type as (R) to ® , Type (C) to © , Type (TM) to ™

CHANGE THE FONT STYLE & SIZE

You can use command on font group to change font, size, & add more effects

You can use print preview to view what willbe your document after you print it, before you

Make necessary changes

Press ok button

CHANGE THE PARAGRAPH SPACING

You can also use paragraph group to change space between paragraph.

You can use paragraph group o the home tab for change paragraph options.

THE DRAWING TOOLBAR

You can use drawing toolbar to insert shape, change shape style, fill color, add Shadow or 3d effect and also arrange shape.

This toolbar will automatically add as a new tab while you create or select a shape.

You can access it by clicking here on the title bar

INSERTING CLIP ART

To insert clip art click hereOn the insert tab

After you clicking that command it will open a panel named as “Clip art” on the right side of your window.

Then you can search for clip art, You can also use organize clip at the bottom of the panel to browse clip art.

After you found the clip art you wont just click it add It your document.

INSERT A PICTURE TO DOCUMENT

It will open a window named as “Insert picture”

You can make changes to chart from picture tool that will added as tab after you add a chart

Click here You can add bullet & numbering by clicking these commands

To change style use little arrow heed on the sideof command

Click these commands to align your text

You can use alignment commands on the “Paragraph”group on the “Home” tab

1st command will align your text to left2nd one will align center3rd one will align right side4th one will justify your text( this will add a clean look to

your doc)

To insert a table

Select “Table” command on insert tab

While you typing, some times you may seen read lines under some lettersThis will add automatically by the program to show you the spelling mistakesYou can correct them by right clicking them

Some times you may see Green lines under yourtext this will add for notify grammar mistakeYou can also correct them as above
