Use a watering can or hose, not a sprinkler. Much of the water from sprinklers just evaporates in the air. Wetting the leaves and fruits of your plants can also encourage the development or spread of plant diseases. Bring the hose nozzle or watering can spout close to the soil at the base of each plant and give it a good soaking.
