Argentina boasts a huge diversity of ‘terroir’, with 228,575 hectares of cultivated vineyards and a wine-producing area fi lled with contrast as the vineyards stretch north to south (from 22° - 42° latitude) and altitudes from low to high (350m. asl to 3000m. asl) and all of which are protected by the mighty Andes mountain range.
NORTHThe north of Argentina is characterized by vineyards which stand at altitudes between 3000 and 10,000 feet above sea level, very close to the sky and amid multi-coloured ravines. The main northern regions are Cafayate, Tinogasta, Santa María and Belén. The land of the native Calchaquíes and Diaguitas, it keeps a thousand years of history at heart.

MAIN VARIETIESCabernet SauvignonMalbec Tannat Merlot Bonarda Syrah Chardonnay Chenin
2,098 ha. vineyard area
Salta’s wine region is located in the Calchaquíes Valleys, particularly in the Cafayate area, where the thickest and oldest tree trunks in South America can be found. An uncanny land, a rocky oasis, Cafayate cradles a multi-coloured desert and a wine that is as elegant as it is voluptuous. Its scarce rainfall, 230 frost-free days, wide temperature ranges and 300 sunny days boost vine photosynthetic capacity, causing an explosion of life, with fruit brimming with aroma, fl avour and colour. This province has the highest vineyards in the world, at almost 10,000 feet above sea level.

MAIN VARIETIESCabernet SauvignonMalbecSyrah Torrontés

The word “Catamarca” comes from the native quichua language and means “fortress on the hillside.” The land has bequeathed its protective and energetic spirit to the vineyards, endowing them with the subtle vigour of the desert climate, which is ideal for the production of concentrated wines.

In La Rioja, nature expresses itself with the vibrant calmness typical of almost unexplored territories. Its wine industry is characterized by combining handcrafted winemaking with industrialized practices. This is particularly evident in the Famatina Valleys, which stand out for the unique organoleptic characteristics of wines like the Torrontés Riojano, a unique variety born from a mutation of the original Torrontés in this land of manifest enigmas.
CUYOAn arid yet fertile region the name of which means “country of deserts” in the Huarpe milkayac dialect – is the most prolifi c grape growing region in Argentina. Grapes grow at altitudes ranging between 2300 and 5500 feet. Not only is Cuyo the largest and most prolifi c wine region in Argentina but also in South America. And it is in the valleys of the Mendoza province where 80% of our wine is produced.

MAIN VARIETIESSyrah Bonarda Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Greco Nero Merlot Cabernet Franc Torrontés Moscatel de Alejandría Chardonnay Ugni Blanc Sauvignon Blanc Viognier
48,983 ha. vineyard area
San Juan is the second largest wine producing province in Argentina, due both to its large cultivated areas and to its long-standing avant-garde tradition. Its valleys are home to 22% of the total vineyard-planted area, 78% of which is destined to wine production and the rest to table grapes.Although Syrah is San Juan’s fl agship variety, many other varieties stand out for their suggestive intensity such as Tannat and Syrah which fi nd in this sandy, warm terroir an ideal place for development.

Mendoza is widely known to be the leading winemaking province in Argentina. A land where the passionate serenity of our wine growers comes to life accompanied by the exceptional natural conditions of the area. Winemaking in Mendoza, more and more oriented towards quality, is characterized by a constant struggle to achieve the best match between varieties and terroirs. A diverse fusion that gives rise to wines with great elegance and character.

The southernmost vineyards in the world are located in Río Negro’s Alto Valle. A land with an untamed calmness that reaches 1200 feet above sea level and has a markedly continental climate. The wines produced in this region have a strong character. The dryness of the area, resulting from the scarce annual rainfall and constant winds, favours the production of naturally healthy fruit, which do not require the use of any type of chemical.
PATAGONIAPatagonia is home to the southernmost vineyards in the world. This region stands at altitudes between 1000 and 1600 feet above sea level and offers ideal conditions for slow, prolonged berry ripening. These conditions result in wines with a refi ned intensity and a strong character, the aromas and colour of which bring together the purity of the environment and the power of the wind.

A land of harmonious contrasts, Neuquén combines arid steppes with majestic lakes surrounded by lush vegetation. Similarly, the footsteps from the past co-exist with the youth of its recently planted vineyards. The most important wine undertakings can be found in San Patricio del Chañar, where high quality wines are produced. These wines are highly sought-after by the key and most competitive international wine markets. The wide temperature ranges – reaching 70°F in summer – and the scarce rainfall, lead to slow, prolonged berry ripening, yielding wines with intense colours and fl avours.
