Local Union #228 Plumbers, Pipefitters & Refrigeration said UA business manager Mark Mulliner. Premier needed to replace 48 one inch ball defective valves without incurring a lengthy shutdown time. Mulliner said that the Local 228 has enjoyed a great working relationship with Premier since 2006 and had exclusively supplied the plant with trained Journeymen and Apprentices for its expansion project needs. Premier Mushrooms Inc. CEO John Ashbaugh agreed with Mulliner. Continued on Page 3

MONDAY NIGHT BINGOThe Williams Community Center will host Monday Night Bingo weekly at 6:00 PM at the Williams Communi-ty Center, 860 C Street in Williams.

TIRE AMNESTY DAYSDuring the Month of March, Colusa County Residents will be allowed no more than nine (9) tires per user to be disposed of at no charge. The FREE tire disposal is for passenger truck or car tires without rims. The

event will be hosted every Saturday during the month of March at the Colusa County Road Department Yard in Williams, located at 5714 E Street. Hours are 8AM to 2PM. For a transportation exemption to carry up to 20 tires or for additional infor-mation contact the Colusa County Public Works at (530) 458-0466.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY ANNUAL MEETINGThe Friends of the Colusa County Free Library will hold their annual meeting Thursday, February 26, 6:30pm, at the Colusa Industrial Properties Conference Room (100 Sunrise Blvd., Colusa). The brief business meeting, open to every-one, will be combined with a “Toast the Author” event featuring Todd Borg. Mr. Borg is well known for his Owen McKenna Tahoe Mystery Series. Refreshments will be avail-able starting at 6:30pm, with an opportunity to socialize, meet the author, purchase books if desired, and have books autographed. The short business meeting will begin at 7pm and will highlight the past year’s activities with a fi nancial report and election of offi cers. Mr. Borg’s presentation will follow.

ALMOND BLOSSOM TEAThe Arbuckle Leisure Quilters will host the Annual Almond Blos-som Tea on February 28, 2015 at 12 noon in the Arbuckle Com-munity Church social hall at 700 HIllgate Road, Arbuckle. The Tea will feature a salad luncheon, a raffl e for a hand-made quilt, door prizes, and entertainment. The cost of the Tea is $8.00 per per-son. The quilt raffl e tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The Tea benefi ts the Arbuckle Com-munity Church Women's Mission Society which contributes to activi-ties in the church and community.

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL CLINICOn Sunday, March 1, 2015 the 8th Annual Colusa County Baseball and Softball Clinic will be hosted from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Colusa High School Varsity Base-ball Field. Participants will receive instruction from some of the pre-mier players and coaches in the county. Players will receive instruc-tion in hitting and infi eld/outfi eld defense. Little league coaches are invited and encouraged to at-tend in order to take proper prac-tice habits and techniques back to their respective teams. The event is open to baseball and softball players ages 8 to 14. The cost is FREE. LOCAL BOUNTY FUNDRAISERThe Colusa County Farm Bureau will host its annual Local Bounty Fundraiser featuring local com-modities from local restaurants on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Main Exhibit Hall, Colusa County Fairgrounds. Participating restau-rants include Louis Cairos, Juan’s Tacos, Market Street Grill, Rocco’s Bar & Grill and Steelhead Lodge. The cost is $60 per person and in-cludes wine, cheese and sausage tasting, olive oil tasting and sushi by the Raw Bar. Silent Auction and Raffl e prizes will also be available.

CRAB AND STEAK DINNER

AND DANCEOn Saturday, March 7, 2015 the Colusa County Youth Football and Cheer Organization will host an ‘All you Can Eat Crab and Steak Dinner and Dance’ at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, Festival Hall. No host cocktails will begin at 5:00 p.m. with dinner starting at 6:00 p.m. Dance the night away with the Highway 20 Band. An auction and raffl e prizes will also be avail-able. WILLIAMS COLOR RUNOn Saturday, March 7, 2015 the Williams Senior Class will host a Color Run at Williams High School. Registration will begin at 8:30 AM and the race begins at 9:00 AM. Registration fee is $10, and all pro-ceeds will benefi t the WHS Senior Class of 2015. Participants are en-couraged to wear white so the vivid colors show up clearly. BOWLING FOR PAWSOn Saturday, March 14th, 2015, the Friends of the Colusa County Animal Shelter will host its an-nual Bowling Fundraiser at Colusa Riverside Lanes starting at 10:00 AM. STONYFORD RODEO QUEEN APPLICATIONS AVAILABLEThe Stony Creek Horsemen’s As-sociation is now accepting ap-plications for the 2015 Stonyford Rodeo Queen. The contest is open to girls ages 14 to 25 from sur-rounding counties. There is no fee for the event. The Queen Contest will be held during Colusa West-ern Days, Saturday, April 11 at 9:00 AM at the Colusa County Fair Grandstands. The Queen and her Court will ride in the Stonyford Ro-deo Parade, on Saturday, May 2, 2015 and appear during the rodeo that weekend. Application dead-line is March 30, 2015.
