What’s going on in IU Athletics? H s i e r K i d s C u b Football: The Homecoming football game versus Illinois was a memo- rable one for the Hoosiers. The Hoo- siers won by a score of 27-14. Junior Quarterback Ben Chappell threw for 333 yards and had three touchdown passes. Because of his perfor- mance Ben was named Co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. This was the first time he has won the award in his career! Sophomore Tandon Doss had an impressive game by catching seven passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. Demarlo Belcher and Troy Wagner also had touchdown catches. Volleyball: The volleyball team has a special match on October 16. This match was against Iowa and was played at Assembly Hall to kickoff Hoosier Hysteria! This game was also the annual “Dig Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Match. The Hoo- siers swept Iowa 3-0 for their 14 th win of the season! Men’s Soccer: This month the men’s soccer team was able to win two tough roads games in a row by beating Michigan and then Notre Dame. Sophomore Will Bruin leads the team with six goals and three assists. The Big Ten Men’s Soccer Tournament is held in Bloomington this year and will begin play on November 12. Women’s Soccer: The women’s soccer team has a 10-3-2 record and is ranked #24 in the country! The team has not lost a game at home all season! Sophomore Devon Beach is currently leading the team in points with 13. Sophomore Goalkeeper Lindsay Campbell has made 22 saves this season while only allow- ing seven goals! Field Hockey: The field hockey team is currently ranked #18 in the country. The team is currently riding a five game win streak heading into the Big Ten Tourna- ment! Morgan Fleetwood leads the team with 11 goals. Men’s & Women’s Basketball: After having a lot of fun at Hoosier Hysteria, both the men’s and women’s basketball teams are looking forward to starting their seasons in November. The first women’s game is Novermber 15 vs. IUPUI, and the first men’s game is November 13 vs. Howard.
