What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

There are two main UK based media producers for magazines, BAUER and IPC Media.

IPC I feel is limited to producing music magazines, which instigates

they aren’t experienced enough too correctly produce my media product having lack of knowledge of this market.

BAUER would be more suitable to distribute my media product, as this has a wider range of magazines including music and radio. These will most likely be able and willing to produce my magazine because of this, and give the magazine the correct image in the media.

These are not magazines but radio stations, some published on TV and online. This wide range of musical background BAUER has shown this would be the correct publisher for ma music magazines.

Some of these are Distributed as magazines as well as Radio and online.

These three magazines are all in different genres of music, rock, indi alternative and soul, having this range gives BAUER a great range of music magazines to dominate that particular market.

To contribute to their portfolio, my magazine is again in a totally different genre of music to all three, House music. This wont rival any other magazines they distribute, and other give them another market to dominate.

WHSmith is known for the great range of magazines it distributes, along with a range of music magazines. Somewhere like WHSmith is somewhere I would expect to distribute my media product as that primarily what it sells, along with books and stationary.

Also Newsagents is a great way to distribute magazines, as it can target a lot of areas. Newsagents sell a range of magazines, a lot with music so Acid House would be ideal to contribute to their news stands.
