An abusive father? Absent father? Maybe your mother wasnt as nurturing as you needed? Someone was too hard on you as a child? Maybe you were adopted and just cant understand why? Im here to tell you we can all relate to these questions to some degree and today is your day. Today is the day to bury the fears, hurts and failures of yesterday! In John chapter three verse 16, Jesus says, 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Many just stop right here when it comes to their walk with the Lord. We say I believeand hope for everlasting life, but then return back to the struggle, with an, Oh this is the life dished out to me, this is what I deserveattitude. But Im here to tell you, you are NOT stuck! Its just the beginning! I was right there at one time, but then I discovered verse 17 in John chapter 3, 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Hallelujah! Sure weve had pains and struggles and hardships, but none of which was meant for condemnation! God the Father loved the world He created and He loved you even more! So much that He sent His son not just to die as a sacrifice, but to be an example of faith and obedience to the Father. So today, dont believe the lie of condemnation and that this is it! Believe the truth that youre loved and you deserve more! Your heavenly Father wants to bless your mess and all you have to do is surrender to Him. Give up today, let go of the hurts of yourself and others and follow Him, because He first loved you! (1John 1:9) Here at CMBTC many stories unravel every day. Each a unique story with its own struggle. Praise God we get to share the Grace of God in our lives and share the miracle. We were dead in sin and now we are alive in Him! Share with us in this miracle, this month, and always! My name is Laura Vinzant. I am 43 years old and am from Decatur, Alabama. I have 3 daughters who are 18, 23 and 25. I have three grandchildren and another one due in July. I went to church off and on as a child but knew nothing about a

personal relationship with Jesus Christ. My father has never been a part of my life, so I have had issues with abandonment. When I was a teenager, I rebelled against my mom and began to look for love in all of the wrong places. I started drinking and smoking pot just to fit in. I did the things the boys wanted me to do so they would like me. I got pregnant when I was in the 11th grade and quit school when the baby was born. I had 3 kids by the time I was 19. My son Logan passed away when he was 20 months old. I always went from one relationship to another and they all involved verbal and physical abuse. My 4th husband introduced me to methamphetamine and IV drug usage. I thought I had found the one thing that would cover all of the pain. I didn’t know that this would take me down a very dark and evil path. I became the

person I never thought I would be. I lied, cheated and stole to support my addiction and to get what I wanted. I hurt my family the most. My life was a disaster. I got an infection from IV use and had to have open heart surgery to replace my heart valve. The doctors told my family that I had little chance of survival. But God had a plan for my life, so the enemy did not succeed. Just a few days after I was released from the hospital, I overdosed and God saved me once again. I have been in and out of jail many times. I have been running from God and His call on my life for a very long time. I should really be dead, but God, in His wonderful grace and mercy saw fit to pluck me up out of the mess I was in and bring me here to Crossville MBTC. He called me by name because He wants a relationship with me. I am so thankful that I am not the same person I used to be. I am a new creation. I am no longer a slave to my fears. I have been set free and covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. I stand on His promises and will fight the good fight. The enemy can’t take what I have any longer! Greater is He who lives in me than he who is in the world! Amen!!!

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cut-

ter, my great army, which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,

and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you.

And my people shall never again be put to shame. “

Joel 2:25-26

My name is Brandon Jernigan. I am 23 years old. I was born in a small town called Ahoskie, in North Carolina. My little brother, Jason, and I moved to the Outer Banks with my dad

when we were kids. We spent a lot of time on the beach and fishing on the boat. My dad became a drag racer so I spent a lot of time with him at the drag strip. I thought of my dad as a super hero, but he drank a lot and I thought that was just what grown-ups did. Eventually my dad lost everything so me and my brother moved back in with my mom. I have three brothers and sisters on my mom’s side of the family. When I was 15, I started smoking pot and that led to using cocaine,, which I did for a bout a year straight. Then I started taking Percocet, which led me down a bad road. I took pain pills for the next 3 or 4 years. I always had a job, so I could support my habit. But the pills led to IV drug use and when that wasn't enough, I started using heroin. During this 3 year period, I overdosed once and fell asleep at the

wheel and hit another car head on. I knew then that it was time for a change. So I called Crossville Mission Bible Training Center. I know that I am right where God wants me to be. I graduated the residential program after 10 months, and learned many lessons along the way. I am currently an Assistant Counselor in the program, and want nothing more than to further the Kingdom of God. I will do whatever it takes to see my brothers and sisters succeed. I thank God for saving my life and for making me a warrior for Him! The Lord works all things out for the good. I know now that I am still a follower, but a follower of Jesus Christ (and not men)! I am to lead people to Christ so that they can have life, and life more abundantly! My favorite scripture that I stand on is Jeremiah 17:7-8, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For He shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river. And will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
