The Retirement Lifestyle You Deserve October 2020 A Note from Your Recreation Department As we look ahead on our calendar, we would typically be planning for the Remembrance Day service and Christmas Festivities if things were normal, but as you know, this year is anything but normal. In the past we had large events to mark these occasions, but it has become evident that it is likely we will not be able to do our usual programs. Please know we will ensure there is recognition of Remembrance Day and Christmas in a safe and appropriate way following the regulations set by the Province. Stay tuned for more details. A THANK YOU! A Huge thank you to the Rotary Villas Garden Club for the beautiful flowers, ripened tomatoes, and for looking after the inside plant care. The ladies do a wonderful job putting colour into our summer and treating us with fresh tomatoes. The inside plants need weekly care and always look great. Please join me in thanking, Sylvia Barr, Pam Stacy, Joyce MacKay, Marilyn Ross and Grace Loewen. A Remembrance Day Challenge! We would like to see your creativity! Write a Poem about Remembrance Day Submit it to the Recreation Department. Be creative and enjoy! There will be Prizes!! Fire Inspection On October 13 & 14th, Rotary Villas will be getting an annual Fire Inspection. This in- spection requires access to each resident room to test the smoke detectors. Please contact Front Desk is you have any con- cerns about your suite’s inspection. Welcome to Chef Jason Fugleberg Please help us in welcoming our new Culinary Services Coordi- nator, Jason Fugleberg. Jason has been in the Food Service in- dustry for over 20 years and a Red Seal Journeyman Cook for 19 of those years. He has worked in a variety of kitchens such as restaurants, hotels, catering fa- cilities as well as currently working at a long-term care facility. We look forward to his addition to our team on October 13th. Flu Clinic Flatland Drugs will be holding a Flu Clinic again this year. They will be providing High Dose Vaccine for our residents. Once the vaccine has arrived, Ian Trembath will notify us of the dates for the flu clinic. We are extremely happy to have Joan Kelleher join us here at Rotary Villas! If you see her out and about please introduce yourself and give her a warm wel- come. Joan is looking forward to the peace of mind liv- ing here as well as the fitness classes. She en- joys walking which makes Rotary a perfect home for her with our beautiful gar- dens and fall foliage. She has a beautiful view from her sunroom and will enjoy reading her books in there this winter. Rotary Villas Referral Program If you know someone who may be interested in living in Rotary Villas, you could received $1000 referral. All you have to do is let Tanis know their names before they call us. Then, if they move into Rotary Villas, the referral fee will be yours!
