College Now Courses – Spring 2022
Program Dates: January 29th, 2022 - May 21st, 2022
All classes will take place on Saturdays ONLY (ONLINE)
Fundamentals of Speech SPE 100 3 Credits
The aim of this course is to develop effective skills in speech communication. The student examines how to generate topics and organize ideas, master’s elements of audience psychology, and practices techniques of speech presentation in a public forum.
Course Time: 8:30-11:26am
General Psychology PSY 100 3 Credits
This course stresses adaptive human behavior in relation to the environment. Topics considered include origins and methods of psychology, neuropsychological bases of behavior, maturation, motivation, emotion, learning frustration and conflict.

Developmental Psychology PSY 240 3 Credits
This course explores cognitive, emotional, and behavioral changes across the lifespan. Attention is given to how biological sociocultural factors shape the individual.
Prerequisite: Any student applying to this course MOST have taken PSY 100 (at BMCC and/or at another CUNY College Now program) and earned a B and better as the final grade. Students who have not taken PSY 100 at BMCC and/or at another College Now program will not be considered.
