Seton Catholic Schools
I am excited to share a new venture that St. Matthias Parish School has been invited to join. The
Archdiocese of Milwaukee is creating a collaboration of schools which will be called Seton Catholic
Schools. It is named in honor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the founder of the first Catholic schools in the
USA. This will be a network of schools which will share resources to help move the schools forward such
as professional development opportunities for teachers and large-group purchasing. There will also be a
central office to assist the school with finances, human resources, marketing and technology.
I am very excited for this new opportunity. Twenty-six schools will be involved over the next three years.
St. Matthias Parish School will be in the first cohort of this journey which will start in the 2016-2017
school year. I believe there are so many opportunities for our school, staff and students to advance.
More information will be coming in the next few weeks. Please watch the mailer for more information on
St. Matthias Parish School as a Seton Catholic School.

Hot Lunch Prices
There was confusion as to the cost of the hot lunches. The prices are below:
Student Lunch with milk $3.25
Milk only $0.50
Rocky Rococo Lunch with milk will cost $3.75. Just like last year, there is an additional $0.50 for this
lunch due to the cost of Rocky Rococo pizza.
Power School Parent Access
Information for Parent Access went home today. It is a small packet of information to each child. It
details where to go and what to do to create your account on PowerSchool. Please note the following:
Parent access is temporary. You will create your own login information.
You can link your children so that you only have one login to access all your children’s
information. Please update your address, phone number and email addresses.
There is a student access code at the bottom of the sheet. This is so your child can log in to
monitor their grades. I suggest having students in grades 6-8 do this. It is a great way for them
to take responsibility for their schoolwork.
There is only one log-in per child. If there is more than one household, the parents will receive
the same log-in. Both parents should be able to create their own individual logins from the temporary logins.
I have also included a listing of our grades. The Archdiocese has adjusted the grading scale in
that that are no longer +/-. The scale is the same we have used in the past, but now an A is anything between a 93-100 versus an A-, A, or an A+.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
As you have seen, we have drawn new parking lines and direction arrows on the parking lot. This is for
the safety of the children. We want to ensure that they are able to move safely to and from the car in the
AM and PM.
In planning for the lines to be redone, it was suggested to try and have the same route for the AM drop
off and the PM pick up. For this reason we have 2 slight changes. First, all cars entering and leaving via
Oklahoma will park facing the center of the parking lot. We currently do that in the AM. We will be doing
it in the PM as well. Second, at the PM dismissal, we had one lane that would exit via Oklahoma, now
all cars that enter through Euclid and park on the east side of the parking lot will exit via Beloit Rd.
I have attached an updated map. We tried to make the route as simple as possible. Please review the
map and share it with any family members who pick up your child. We will have staff outside to
help direct the traffic as we realize this is a change and it will take time for everyone to adjust.
Please see the few reminders:
The routes for drop-off in the morning have not changed.
If entering on Oklahoma, drive toward the cemetery fence. There are now 2 lanes for parking.
Please face East, toward 92nd St., for both AM and PM times. If entering on Euclid, drive in and park in any of the 3 lanes. All of these 3 lanes will leave via
Beloit Rd. This is a change for the row closest to the center of the parking lot.
Please do not drive across the yellow lines between the two parking areas. This is the safe
walking zone for children.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
