Principal Notes

Summer has started, and we are getting a lot of work done here at school. First of all, thank you

for the donations of used school supplies for our sister parish. We will be sending about 10 boxes

of supplies to them. I know the children there will love it!

I do have some news to share with you. Mrs. Cara Sardina, our Spanish and middle school

religion teacher, will not be returning to St. Matthias next year. She has decided to spend some

time home with her young children. In looking at the open positions, I have decided that I will be

hiring a part-time Spanish teacher and a full-time Social Studies and Religion teacher for the

middle school.

I am finalizing our 5th grade positon, and I hope to have information out to you soon.

I know many of you will be purchasing school uniforms over the summer. As you shop, please

keep in mind the following:

Students in grades 5-8 may wear navy blue or khaki pants or shorts

Students in grades K4- 4 wear navy blue pants or shorts

No cargo pants or shorts are allowed as part of the dress code

Shirts are solid colors of red, white or navy blue

Socks need to be solid colors of white, red, navy blue, or black

I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Front of the School

We would like to work on the flower beds in front of the school. Our parish maintenance crew

does mow the grass, but they are not responsible for flower gardens. We are looking for people

who can help in two areas:

We are looking for a parent or family member who works in landscaping. We would like

some expertise to help us develop a plan in how to improve these areas.

We are also looking for people to volunteer their time to care for this area. This will

include weeding, trimming, edging and a few other things throughout the summer.

If are willing to help in any of these capacities to improve the front of our school, please contact

Office Hours

The School Office will be closed Wednesday, July 1st – Friday, July 10th.

Parish Festival

Our Annual Parish Festival will be held August 28th, 29th & 30th. If you are interested in

Wizard of Oz

The West Allis Players will be performing “The Wizard of Oz” this summer on July 17th, 18th,

24th and 25th at 7:30 p.m. as well as July 19th and 26th at 2:00 p.m. Please join them as they take

a trip back to OZ!
