Where Everyone is an Achiever Resilient Safe Responsible Respectful Newsletter Term 2 Week 7 2020 Dear Parents and Carers, This year our school is due for a four year review where the reviewers (other principals) come and talk to our staff, our students and community members. This process allows us at Dajarra State School to develop a strategic plan for the next four years. As part of this process, community and parent voices are very important. Last term at a Community advisory meeting, we discuss what this year would look like, I would like to invite all parents and community members to attend a meeting next week where we can begin the process of identify the direction of the school for the next four years. The meeting is scheduled for Next Tuesday 9th of June at 2:45 Pm. I am requesting that as many families and community members attend to ensure that all voices are heard in this process. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me to discuss this further. Over the coming weeks, I will include more information about the review process to ensure that you are kept informed and up to date. Another pressing issues that is arising is student attendance at school. Last week we only had 5 students out of 14 attend for the full 5 days. I would like to take this opportunity to remind families that school is compulsory and that if your child is way that you contact the school to discuss this with us. Please also keep in mind that a valid reason for absence needs to be provided or it is recorded as an unauthorised absence. If you have any difficulties assisting your child to get to school, especially school refusal, than I am more than happy to come and School website: At a glance Week 7 Book fair Week 8 Book fair Week 9 Week 10 Wednesday – Sports day Class K-6 In the K-6 class, we have been enjoying discovering amazing science experiments such as making water walk and making bouncy balls. Currently, we are working on discovering how mould grows and what the best way is to store bread so it doesn`t grow mould. For English, we have almost finished writing our advertisements for our robots, and what deadly advertisements they are! We have also been brushing up on our technology skills and now do some of our assessment pieces completely on the computer, working through activities to show our skills.
