We are celebrating and acknowledging the amazing and caring office staff, general assistant and school learning support officers that have a positive impact on the lives of our students, families and teachers. We thank them all for the wonderful contribution, time and effort that each of our staff members give to our school. Enjoy your week.
Our Stage 3 students are having a super time in Canberra. King Street is an Allergy Aware School
This is a reminder for all families that some of our
students have serious reactions to products
containing nuts and fish.
We ask that you please do not send foods or
containers to school that contain nut or fish
products.
This includes nutella and peanut butter spread.
Building Update
The roof above S3J, S3W and the music has been
completed and the builders are finishing off the
guttering and fascia this week. It looks amazing. The
next project is the roof above S3G, S3M and the
Collaboration Space. This is the largest area of roof
to be completed and will take up to 2 weeks.
On Monday, S3J and S3W will be placed back into
their rooms and S3G and S3M will be relocated to D
Block. The quad area is still out of bounds for all
students and temporary fencing will block off access
in front of S2S and S2B next week. These classes
will access their rooms via S2G and S2H.

Showing Positive Behaviour for Learning
Tawny congratulates the following students for
displaying our King Street Values of Kind, Safe,
Proud and Supportive in Week 6:
Our Week 6 PBL draw winners.
Hunter Athletics Carnival
Our school was represented by some very talented
athletes at the Hunter Athletics Carnival last week.
Everyone put in 100% and raced at their very best
with a lot of students also getting PBs on the day.
Big congratulations to all these students.
Luca from S1P is very excited
as she got a new PB for herself
and is moving onto State to
represent the Hunter in the
100m!
We wish Luca the very best of
luck.
Wellbeing of Students Valued
Please be aware that we have two immune-
suppressed students at our school. If your child
develops a contagious disease, please let the school
know ASAP so we can act accordingly.

Stage 1 Intensive Swimming
Our Stage 1 Intensive Swimming Program will be
beginning daily for two weeks from Monday 17th
September to Friday 28th September.
The Department of Education School Swimming and
Water Safety Program is an intensive learn to swim
program, which develops water confidence and
provides students with basic skills in water safety
and survival.
The cost for the 10 days is $40 per student. This is
non-refundable as it is paid as a whole package.
The school has greatly subsidised this program and
are hoping that all students will be able to attend.
Please return your note and payment to the school
office by the 12th of September to secure your spot.
Thank you, Stage 1 Teachers
WANTED! Much Needed Mulch For Our Vege
Garden
Our EWOKS (Environmental Workers of King Street)
have been spending a lot of time working very hard
in our vege garden.
They have planted potatoes, potted plants and
added a wonderful scarecrow to the beautiful space
ready for spring!
To help with the garden Mrs Fishpool is asking for
donations of some mulch hay. This will help us save
water, add fertility and control the weeds. Please
contact the office if you are able to help us.
Thank you from the EWOKS
Father’s Day Breakfast
Last Thursday we hosted a Father’s Day breakfast
here at KSPS with our dads, grandfathers and
special friends enjoying a cuppa and egg and bacon
roll together. This was a great way to celebrate the
important roll they all play in their children’s lives.
Thank you for taking the time to be a part of this
special breakfast.
Father’s Day Stall
Our King Street Public School P&C again did a
fabulous job of organizing our annual Father’s Day
stall. There were some fabulous gifts that I’m sure
were enjoyed by many dads on Father’s Day.
Our P&C raised $1055.70 on the sale of these gifts
and the raffle.

Bruce The Lizard Visits
Last week S1I and S1P were excited about meeting
a very special guest visitor, Bruce.
Bruce is Mr Cook’s beloved bearded dragon who
loves being read to while he relaxes. All the students
sat in pairs and got to read to Bruce while patting
him and feeling the texture of his skin.
Thank you Mr Cook for bringing Bruce into KSPS.
Town Library Fun
Over the last 2 weeks our students have enjoyed
visits to our town library.
They got to see the new technology they can play
with while at the library and thoroughly enjoyed the
stories that were read during the visits.
This is something that we look forward to every year
and the hard work of the wonderful staff at the library
makes it so memorable each and every visit.
Thank you to the Singleton Library staff for always
making KSPS feel so welcome.

Creative Writing
Milla in KJ has made Mr Northey very proud with her
creative writing. Well done Milla.
Talking About Maths – Use The Everyday
Am I more likely to randomly draw out a white
marble or a swirly marble?
How many marbles are in my bag?
Is it possible to draw out a spotted marble?
If my brother stole three of my marbles, how many
would I have left?
Use a word to describe my chances of drawing out a
black marble?
Book Club Orders
A new Book Club order went home with students on
Friday with some wonderful books and packs. With
Christmas only 4 months away this is a great time to
purchase items and pop them away ready.
Book Club order forms are due back to KSPS
School Office by next Wednesday the 12th of
September and can be paid online or at our school
office.

are tax deductible. We have farming families that need our help, so please help us to help them.
Next Tuesday 11th September KSPS will be fundraising for our farmers.
During the day students will be able to dress up as a ‘Farmer’ and have a sausage sizzle lunch
for $2.
That afternoon/night we will be holding Infants and Primary Discos in our hall.
Infants Disco held from 5pm to 6pm-
Cost $5, includes a drink and packet of chips.
Primary Disco held from 6pm to 7.30pm-
