ENVIRONMENT FLORIDA IS HIRING! Environment Florida works to advocate the environmental vision and values Floridians share. Environment Florida organizes the support it takes to stand up to polluting industries. The results include repowering Florida by enlisting new support for wind and solar power by promoting the many benefits that repowering could bring to the state and its citizens and cutting mercury pollution from coal-fired power plants. Become an Environment Florida Fellow! As an Environment Florida Fellow, you will get a two-year crash course in the nuts and bolts of environment activism, organizing, advocacy and the kinds of institution-building that can sustain long-term battles like the fight for clean energy. As a fellow, you won’t just learn how to make an impact; you’ll make one. A Field Fellow stands up to polluting industries in Florida and fights for the state’s green future. Some critical campaigns that the Field Fellow will tackle are Stop Global Warming and Save Florida’s Waters. After two years as an Environment Florida Fellow, you’ll have learned the ropes, gained invaluable hands-on experience and you’ll have made a real difference for the environment. Best of all, you’ll be ready to become a lead advocate, a lead organizer or a state director with Environment Florida or with one of the state affiliates in 28 other states. That’s the path taken by many of the people who are now leading Environment America’s top state and federal campaigns. Environment Florida is seeking candidates committed to fighting for a green future. It is tough work, and the challenges never stop. Candidates should have the smarts, leadership experience, top-notch written and verbal skills, and an eagerness to learn. Environment Florida values experience organizing, including building campus groups. The Field Fellow will be expected to start in August in St. Petersburg, FL. If you are interested in positions in other states, Environment Florida can put you in touch with state affiliates across the country. If hired, you’ll earn $24,500 in your first year and $26,000 in your second year. You’ll be eligible to join the group health plan at no cost to you and you’ll receive two weeks of paid vacation at the completion of your first year, and accrue three weeks over the course of your second year. You’ll be eligible to apply for college loan assistance after your third month, and to participate in the 401(k) plan at the end of your first year. If you would like to learn more about the position, contact the Recruitment Department with any questions at [email protected]. Those who are interested should apply online. Environment Florida Intern: Looking for an internship instead? Apply to be an Environment Florida intern. You’ll learn how to make an impact on critical environmental issues.
