I have been hearing and witnessing wonderful things from our Shipmates and I am very proud to be associated with some of the most professional and hardworking people in the Navy! You are the ones that are constantly improving the way we do business and positively impacting the ABMA! It takes a huge effort to operate those flight decks, hangar decks, pump rooms, arresting gear, catapults, tower, flight deck control, shore based arresting gear, airfields, air terminals, squadrons, firefighting schools, outlying fields, training sites, fuel farms, test sites, school houses, testing labs, recruiting districts, recruit training commands and the list goes on and on.
We are undergoing a few changes in our Board of Directors’ structure, so please understand that when you request information and it is not delivered according to the timeline you have become accustomed to. With that being said, you will notice that our website has received an upgrade and our Facebook page is constantly displaying relevant information. All of this belongs to us, so contact us if you see areas that we can improve upon.
The Tidewater Chapter is gearing up for an Awesome ABMA Professional Working Group from 7-11 August 2017 at the Marriott in Chesapeake, Virginia. Let’s do our part by planning now and working towards submitting agenda items, AB of the Year packages, Regina P. Mills Leadership Award packages, Scholarship packages, as well as Posthumous and Living Legend packages. Start submitting your TAD requests now to ensure proper funding is allocated for this very important event.
You all are doing a wonderful job in your many places around the world. I am very proud to be an AB and able to help make a positive impact at the command, throughout the Navy, and even the world! Thanks and keep up the great work! ONE TEAM ONE FIGHT!!!

FROM THE ABMA PRESIDENT
Spring 2017 Letter from the ABMA Chaplain
Warriors around the World,
I greet you in the name of the Most High! If you are able to read this message, you are doing just fine. We sometimes forget that our circumstances can be a lot worse than what we are currently facing and on the other hand-they can be a lot better as well. I am starting to realize that it is okay to be content with what I have and to be thankful for the life that God blessed me with! All too often, we want to live someone else’s life that is displayed on social media. We are not privy to everything that they may encounter on a daily basis but they pick and choose what they want to share with their friends/followers. News alert—we can’t pick and choose the cards that we are dealt, we are some of the toughest people in the world as it is displayed through our work ethic and our AB mentality. Let’s continue to press forward and be the best version of ourselves!
As we defend freedom and democracy around the world, I challenge you all to continue to lift one another up in prayer and commit a special prayer for our brothers and sisters in harm’s way and currently on watch as well as comfort and peace for the loved ones that they have left behind. Do the right thing and make the right decisions and you will get the right results!!!! Feed the faith and starve the doubt!!! "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever." (Jude 1:24-25)
LCDR Erick C. Stroud
ABMA Chaplain

Donna Dodson’s contact information is on the new ABMA Membership Form.
If you knows of anyone in the AB community that is sick, injured, or has died, or is going through a hardship, such as a total loss from a house fire, major medical issues, extended hospital stays, etc. contact the ABMA Chaplain and he can get the word out to the AB community. The ABMA Chaplain LCDR Erick Stroud has taken over getting the word out to the ABMA and the AB community as ABEC (Ret) Stoney Burke use to do via the “Stoney Net”. Thanks LCDR Erick Stroud for taking this on!

You can contact me at (619) 578-1523 or email [email protected] . Also I will need a copy of your ABMA Chapter’s By-Laws, if I do not already have them or if you make any changes to your By-Laws.
