Remember we have looked at 2D and 3D shapes, their different properties and nets. Maths Scavenger Hunt All you need is some creativity and a garden or home full of measurable objects! Try to find as many different objects around your house or garden with as big a range of lengths or weights as possible! Be creative with how you are measuring things as remember not all units of measure are standard cm/m/ml/g/KG etc. It could be pencil lengths, a hand span or the weight of a glass PE Equipment needed: A couch, some pillows, cuddly toys, towels and a stop-watch. Activity: With parents or carers permission, create a trail using whatever equipment you can find at home to get from one point to a couch or seat in your house. Keep all the equipment on the floor but the trail can be as long or short as you want. You then need to complete the trail as quickly as possible. Maybe you could have a family challenge and see who is the quickest! You will be focusing on skills such as balance and coordination. Engineering Using any recycled materials, plan and create your own mini golf course! Think about angles, slope, distance and desired speed. You could even have ‘easy’ and ‘hard’ rounds. Use kitchen utensils or create your own clubs. Compete with those at home to see who can get the lowest par! If you have the space you might want to construct bigger obstacles for your mini golf course outside. OR Science Sink or Swim Using the different fruit and vegetables you have at home, predict which you think will float or not, giving your reasons why. What happens if you remove the skin? Do you notice patterns Pitching the Business Create and deliver an ‘elevator pitch’ - or short snappy summary - to persuade your chosen audience (at home or virtually) on your idea. You will then ask your audience for feedback. The prompt questions on the attached PPT will be helpful for you. Supporting Materials: Mini Practice & feedback PPT When you are ready Prepare a short presentation (3-5 mins) including all relevant details about your business and product or service. Imagine you are to ‘pitch’ your Circular Economy to others, Art Rainbow scavenger hunt! Find objects around the house in each colour and arrange them into a rainbow design. Take a picture of your finished masterpiece and ask if you can share it with us! For extra challenge you could also do the same with numbers! How many things can you find with each number up to 10? (No, you can’t write out the numbers) OR Music Using free apps such as Garage Band (Apple) or Music Maker (Android), create a piece of music! Use one instrument or combine a few different pieces of music together. This could be to accompany a song Caring for the world Different religions have different values and beliefs. These have all been formed over many centuries and may continue to evolve over time. Can you compare at least 2 of the 5 world religions and analyse the pros and cons of each of those religions. I have found an example template you can use for this or you can make your own one up. Don’t forget to explain your thinking behind these pros and cons.
