Training DescriptionCreated by the industry for the industry, the ServSafe® food safety training program is one of the industry’s strongest educational programs. It is administered by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering special training to help you meet the industry standards and your obligation to consumers. ServSafe® is recognized by more federal, state and local health jurisdictions than any other food safety training program in the United States.

Meets Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) requirements.

All participants must successfully pass the exam in order to be certified by the NRAEF.

A 75% or higher exam score is required for certification.

Certification is valid for five years. A photo ID is required to take the

certification exam.

About the InstructorCERTIFIED SERVSAFE® INSTRUCTOR

Holly VanHeel has been a ServSafe instructor and proctor since 2010. She is a Registered Dietitian and has over 30 years of Foodservice Administration and Management experience in urban, rural, long-term care and children’s health care facilities. She currently serves an eight-county region in central Iowa and provides nutrition, food safety and wellness programs. Holly has a BS degree in Dietetics and a Masters degree in Health Care Administration.
