Is stewardship about money alone?

Of course not! It is important to remember that when we focus exclusively on giving in terms of money alone, we lose sight of the bigger picture. God calls us to be generous in all areas of our lives and invites us to explore the many opportunities to share ourselves through our time and talent. What does the Bible Say about stewards? The Bible has many stories about stewards. One thing that they all have in common is that they tend to teach us how we can better take care of ourselves and also take care of the possessions that God has entrusted to us. Jesus said to his disciples, “Therefore, I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat, nor about your body, what you shall put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.”    -Luke 12:22-23

In Honor of Bishop Allende To honor The Rev. Abraham Allende's six years as bishop of our Northeastern Ohio Synod, and his upcoming retirement, the synod council executive committee invites members of the synod, individuals and congregations, to join in contributing to the Bishop's Gift for Gratitude and Appreciation. All gifts will be divided between Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and the Immigrant Worker Project, two organizations supported by Bishop Allende.  All gifts may be mailed to the Lutheran Center, 1890 Bailey Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Checks can be made out to Northeastern Ohio Synod and please indicate it is for the Bishop's Fund.  (Or you can donate online at neos-elca.org/donate/ through the synod's Tithe.ly app)  We will accept gifts through the end of Bishop Allende's term, November 30.
