September 5-9, 2016 Volume 3 Issue 3 Ms. Bucci's Newsletter Next Week… In Language Arts we will be sequencing stories by recalling beginning, middle, and end, summarizing literature, learning to identify naming words, understanding main idea/details, segmenting words, isolating phonemes, producing rhymes, and reviewing consonants Mm, Rr, and Ss. In Math, we will be ordering/writing #’s 0-5 to answer “how many,” representing decompositions with materials/drawings/e quations (3=2+1, 3=1+2), and answer + make drawings of decompositions w/ totals of 4 and 5 w/o equations. Confusing…I know Letter of the Week Consonant Rr will be introduced next week. Reading Book Next week’s reading book from the Cromer News… APEX Fun Run Fundraiser I am very excited to announce that the APEX Fun Run will be coming again to Cromer this year as our major fundraiser (No more cookie dough)! In your child’s Friday Folder you will find more information about this event. Please consider donating to our big fundraiser of the year for Cromer!!! The actual fun run will Parents… Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to help out in the classroom this year. I am still in need of 1 more parent who can volunteer in the morning for about 1 hour. Thank you! Contact Info Procedures Small Toys/Items for Sound Tubs I am currently accepting donations of small toys that I can put into my alphabet “sound tubs.” If you are looking to clean out your child’s toy collection, I will gladly take any small toy off of your hands and put it into my alphabet tubs. Toys should be able to fit into a small, cottage cheese-sized container. I am ONLY looking for hard to find items that begin with letters such as E, Q, U, V, W, X, Y, & Z. Thank you! Homework Packets Your child’s 1 st homework packet is included in their Friday Folder today. Packets will be put into your child’s blue Friday Folder and will be due the following Friday. Letter of the Week Consonant Rr will be introduced next week.

Reading Book Next week’s reading book from the Harcourt Reading series is called, “The Salad.” It focuses on sight word I and like. Please remember to read the book of the week with your child EVERY night to reinforce the 40 sight words that they need to know in Kindergarten. Thanks!

Show & Tell I have attached (again) the schedule for when it is your child’s day to share beginning on SEPTEMBER 12th.

Cromer News…APEX Fun Run Fundraiser I am very excited to announce that the APEX Fun Run will be coming again to Cromer this year as our major fundraiser (No more cookie dough)! In your child’s Friday Folder you will find more information about this event. All of the Kindergarten classes are planning to go on a field trip to Veit Springs (SF Peaks) for an Autumn hike on Tuesday, September 27th @ 9:00-2:00. Permission slips are being sent home today. Please sign & return the permission slips and return as soon as possible. Thanks!

Homework Packets Your child’s 1st homework packet is included in their Friday Folder today. Packets will be put into your child’s blue Friday Folder and will be due the following Friday. Homework may be turned in as soon as it has been completed (it doesn’t have to be in the blue folder). Homework is voluntary but what a great way to spend time with your child to enforce previously taught skills! Star of the Week I will be sending home a “Star of the Week” poster & information with one child today. Please check the Friday Folder to see if it is your child’s week to share their pictures, all about me poster, and items that they had when they were younger. If you have any questions about this let me know!
