WE’VE GOT A VARIETY OF APPRENTICESHIP VACANCIES WAITING FOR YOU! KEEP UP TO DATE 1. An apprenticeship is a training programme that allows you to learn new skills and gain recognised qualifications while working. They take one to four years to complete depending on their level. 2. You can start an apprenticeship after your GCSEs. A change in law means that young people must stay in education until they are 18. This means you can choose to stay at school, start an apprenticeship or go to college. 3. You need a job to begin an apprenticeship. You must be working for a suitable employer before you begin an apprenticeship. If you don’t already have a job, we can help you find one through our vacancy matching service. 4. Earn while learning. You’ll get a weekly salary - plus paid holidays. 5. You’ll gain an industry-related qualification and valuable work experience. At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have the skills, knowledge, behaviours, experience and technical qualification to progress your career. 6. We offer a range of apprenticeships - the main ones being: – Intermediate - equivalent to five GCSEs, grades 9-4 (A*-C) – Advanced - equivalent to two A-levels – Higher - can lead to a foundation degree 7. Studying takes place at college or in the workplace. You’ll spend around 20% of your time studying the theory side of the apprenticeship. This will either be at a college or with an assessor who will visit you in the work place. 8. You won’t need to pay tuition fees. If you are studying for an apprenticeship – you will not need to cover the costs. These will be paid for by the government or we will arrange funding with your employer. 9. You can train on an apprenticeship in many industries. Including apprenticeships in automotive, business, engineering and hospitality. 10. You’ll have a world of opportunities available to you. You’ll have the option to progress on to an advanced or higher apprenticeship, into a new job or on to a degree after an apprenticeship.
