Purpose

Marine Function

• Provide advice as statutory consultees to underpin sustainable use– Spatial plans– Marine licenses and consents

• Designate, monitor, research and advise on MPAs

• Support government in implementing Marine Strategy Framework Directive

• Regulation and enforcement of SSSIs.
