Today at the Final Closing Out Saleof Artkfes Tonight will bring to a close the most successful fair ever held within the Dis trict oC Columbia The preparation of months for the great Masonic Fair and Exposition has culminated in two and onehalf weeks of unalloyed pleasure for the immense crowds that have filed into Convention Hall and the immense armory building adjoining It is estimated that fully S5W people have visited the place will be far in excess of those of tho fair ofyfour years ago No question is now entertained but that the will n t over S500 0 to the temple fund and will permit of work being under- taken once upon the building of that structure which will be an architectural gem alid in thorough keeping with the best that has been erected by the general Government- An feature of last evening was the presentation of a fine American flag by the fair management to The Washington Times Newsboys Band Se- cretary Ryder made the presentation speech and Mr W P Leech business manager of The Times responded Everything at the present fair has been upon an immense scale The donations have been large the articles offered as prizes have been of unusual value vary- ing from a bicycle to an automobile and a lot and all classes from the of the United States to the Iminblest citizen have added their mite to the general good of the cause In the refreshment line the consump tion has been immense Some idea of quantities may be obtained from the fact that between 400 and 500 gallons of ice cream and water Ices have been sold at the fair each night At the close of the fair last night all articles that were being voted for or on which tickets were being sold that had not realized a sufficient amount to warrant their being closed out and the winner an nounced were packed and turned over to Director General Standiford who was to day engaged in transporting them to the Masonic fair headquarters In the Lenman where they will be finally disposed- of AH other articles remaining in the booths were this morning put up at auc tion to be knocked down to the highest bidder It Is thought that the greater part the fay will be consumed in this work The doors were
