Signed with Middle Georgia College 1981 and played for the No.1 team in the nation and DIV 1 NJCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in 1982. Division 1 Collegiate All American 2nd Team 1982. Signed to play at Va Tech in 1983. Worked at HII/NNS for 36 years. Vice President of the Peninsula Baseball Umpires Association from 2015 to 2019. Helped coach Gloucester High school, Gloucester Senior Legion.This is his first year as the Head Coach for Warwick High Schools baseball team.

JV HEAD COACH MARIO BYRDCoach Mario Byrd is currently a senior majoring in History with a minor in Psychology at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. There he is a 4-year letterman for the NCAA football program where he started for 3 years as a defensive lineman. He is also a graduate of Warwick High School where he was a part of our baseball and football program since an 8th grader.

Born and raised in Norfolk, VA, Coach Dixon is 1995 graduate of Lake Taylor High School. He earned First Team All Eastern District, All Tidewater, All Eastern Region, and All State DH in Baseball. He has 20 plus years of coaching experience which includes 3 years as the Menchville JV Softball Coach and 1 year as the Menchville JV Baseball Coach. Coach Dixon has 1 child – Makayla Dixon (14 years old).

Graduated from York High School in 2014 as an all-conference and all-region outfielder. Played Division II softball for one year at Davis & Elkins College starting in left field as a freshman. Started volunteering with Menchville softball after transferring to Christopher Newport University. Head coach of Kecoughtan JV Softball for the 2016 season. Grafton Varsity Assistant Softball Coach for the 2017 and 2018 season. Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English from CNU in 2018 and graduated with a Master's degree in Education from Old Dominion University in 2019. Currently a special education teacher at Discovery STEM Academy in Newport News.

HEAD COACH BEN BECOUVARAKISCoach Becouvarakis was born and raised in Newport News. He attended Hilton Elementary, Booker T Washington Middle, Hines Middle, and Warwick High School. Coach Becouvarakis played travel soccer and captained the Warwick soccer team his senior year. He attended James Maddison University where he majored in Mathematics. Coach Becouvarakis has been coaching soccer at Warwick High School for five years where he is also a math teacher.

HEAD COACH SCOTT CULLISONScott Cullison has been teaching at Warwick High School for nineteen years. He is a graduate of Ball State University, where he earned a Masters in Organometallic Chemistry. Coach Cullison is a two sport coach. For the last eight years, Coach Cullison has spent his summers and Falls leading our varsity golf team. The WHS golf team has qualified for regionals seven out of eight years under Coach Cullison, and he was awarded District Coach of the Year in his first year of leading the team. In the Spring, Coach Cullison trades his club for a racket as the Varsity Boys Tennis Coach. He has held this position for five years.

Coach Starks has been the Head Girls Tennis Coach since 2014. She has led the team to a 118-20 record and 7 conference/regional tournament appearances. Coach Starks earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work and School Counselling (NSU) and a BS in Health and Physical Education from Delaware State College. Coach Starks has also served as Warwick’s Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for 20 years.

Assistant Coach with Warwick since 2014, Coach Larry Starks played tennis for the USAF and is a retired USAF veteran of 20 years. He has assisted in developing players of all ages and skill levels.
